Not yet. I was supposed to do them last Friday. Howeveer the SL member was testing his TYC's out before dropping them off to me and noticed that a couple of the LEDs were burnt out...possible manufacture's defect. So as of right now he is getting in contact with the seller to resolve the issue or get his money back.

ok so before you add the first coat of clear coat u gotta sand it right? do u buff out the dullness with compound before u add the first clear? cuz it looks ugly and dull as hell after u sand... or is it okay to add the clear even tho its dull still becuz it just makes it shiny again.

No. Apply the clear coat over the wet sanded surface. The clear will make any dull surface look wet and shiney again. Apply 2 mist coats, followed by 3 wet coats of clear. Allow plenty of time to dry, wet sand with 2000 - 2500 grit...or 3000 (if you can find it)and buff to a high gloss shine.

Yes. I mix red PPG paint with clear, never had a problem. There's a couple other things you could use, but I can't reveal all of my secrets.

Did you re-clear the tails on your friends car?

ok well thanks to FLEA i was able to strip my old tint. Took good amount of elbow grease i shall say.. lol but it all came off and i was able to re-tint my tails a THIRD time. dont ask. This time it came out perfect! just wanted to add that u need a good amount of patience. And painting on an elevated surface as opposed to spraying against the floor was ALOT more comfortable. And this time i let my lights dry indoors, since last time. lint was always flying into it.
anyway good write up just wanted to add some stuff. Also make sure u pick a good clear. thanks flea.

Well done!! Thanks for taking the time to do it. I so want to do this but just had a kit installed and I don't want to mess with the bumper at this point plus with the weather it's getting too chilly to paint...

^Just take your time when doing it! If you can, paint during the day, let the paint bake in the sun and do the same for the clear coat.

Need any help, by all means feel free to PM me.

Good luck!

What are the different types of clear coat I can buy? Specific names please(manufacture & model), cause I had a hard time finding some at home depot. What type of clear is that your using flea, the one in the orange can? Can someone make a list of my options? I only ask this cause I live in a small town these days, and i'll need alternatives if I can't find one

Don't use ANY type of spray from Home Depot. Personally I use a spray gun for everything now...however, if I were to use a spray can for clear I would use Spray Max 2K, U-Pol (orange can), Transtar, and last Dupli-color.

Spray Max 2k
U-Pol
Transtar
Dupli-color

Where do I find these? Do you know how long it takes to dry for each one?

Find it at paint stores. Auto paint stores, not home paint stores. Spray Max 2k has a hardener in it, so it dries and is ready to buff with 1.5 - 2 hours. The others take anywhere from 3.5 - 7 hours to fully dry.
