Kaminari install tips and advice
Hi, seems to be limited and scattered advice on the subject across the forums.
I just bought a Kaminari kit via Viniati.com. i have had it fitted and it fits good but the front bumpers top lip , where it meets the hood seem to stick out furter on the driver side than the passenger side, my body shop said there is not much that can be done about that, so should i contact kaminari, like did i get a crummy kit, or is it something i just have to live with.
Also, i would love install advice considering the kit did not come with a install manual, just a bunch of bolts and advertisement brochures.
Ive heard of the plastic sheild issue with the front bumper, but ne thing else is there a better way to keep the sideskirts held in place other than screwing screws into the top of them. what bolts do i use for the front and rear bumper thx all

That is indeed a little off......not much though and if you adjust the mount for the pins on the top at the front you could get it to pull back a small amount.....also adjust out the passenger side as well and it will get closer.........body shop should of been able to make those minor adjustments........

the mounts at the top are kinda loose and you can use shims like a rubber grommet to pull the kit back and push it forward as needed total cost...... 20cents...........sometimes non stock body parts need persuaded just a little bit to form properly.......once it is painted the differance is going to be even less....you can also move hood just a bit to compensate.......small moves make big changes on body panels.

I have the same problem. Its a tough thing to fix with out reconstructing th whole lip. I was on my way to doing it but its not worth it. It would take a long time and if you had somebody do it it would cost quite a bit. Im ok with that little 1 - 2 cm difference. Overall the kaminari is a great fit. If you really want it to be good.
Here are 2 things you can do. One of them you can do yourself and isnt hard at all. Open the hood, loosen all 4 bolts, and have somebody hold the hood levle with the ground and pull it to shift the hood out a bit. Itl only go maybe a few mm if that. Then tighten them back up, the gap between the fenders and hood wont be noticable and if it is you can loosen the front fender bolts and move that out and your fine.
If thats not enough get a shop build the hood a little longer by adding fiberglass to the front. Itl look natural and should hold strong.

ok the shop got it all painted and installed
only problem is that there are two dimples in the rear bumper!
they said that was from it buckling during install and theres nothing they can do about it.
shouldnt they have filled those and smoothened them out before painting.
do i really have to settle for that?
