Looking at this design, where does rain water drain? Does it just drop on the engine o.O Anyone with this hood or know care to chime in...?

well before the hoards tell you to search.......it falls between the radiator and the header.......nearly no water hits the motor at all.......I live in Washington state wehre it rains 300 days a year and run the hood year round and never an issue.

That is the hardest part of the install......and it is easy.....on the hood there are dimples in the location of the washer nozzels.....

they get drilled out,use old holes in old hood for correct bit size, and use painters tape on hood before drilling to prevent and errors from bit moving.....

then a small file is used on each end to notch out for the nozzle clip, take your time and test fit a few times, then under side of hood also gets a 3/4" hole drilled in to let the nozzle fit cleanly, then reattach hose to hinge area using clip form old hood and shorten hose from nozzle to nozzle acordingly......

All in all it take about an hour to install......other than that it is an easy install.....

If you car is parked and it rains some of the water does puddle up above the grill and when you go to drive it and you go above 40-50 mph the water will spray/sprinkle onto your winsheild. Not a big deal by any means but for about 2 weeks I was wondering how it was raining when it was 90 degrees and sunny lol. And i didnt drill through my hood for the washer sprayers, I think it looks cleaner w/out them

its ok for water to fall between the radiator and headers on an NA tc, but can you imagine water falling on a superheated turbo? im no rocket scientist, but i know that cant be good, lol

alot of F/I guys have very tight turbo/radiator clearance

I have always wondered if water on manifold would crack them quickly,I suppose it could,I had cast header on open fendered Buick and got a crack on it one winter....but never put the two together till years later.Pretty srue turbo manifold runs hotter than a V8 header does, which could be an issue.

old post but does anyone have a s/c or turbo with this hood? i was looking for a hood to keep the engine bay cooler, but wouldnt even a few drops of rain fuse a heated s/c bearing to the shaft?

i think a few have s/c's with them, not sure about turbos. i know if you have the dezod it wont work because of where the minifold is and the hood dips into the engine bay is

i was thinking about buying that version myself cause i dont want the carbon fiber dealing with this texas heat. plus i park outside a lot and i dont really have time to keep waxing it.
