I purchased the fiberglass hood...I have the Dezod S1 turbo and had to dremel out part of the hood, no big deal at all, it rains here in NC all the time, and besides some rust on the CAST IRON part of the turbo housing, the water doesn't bother it at all...excellent investment, the nozzle-less look is the way to go in my opinion

Default kam reverse cowl cf hood

i bought this hood at a salvage yard in kcmo my hometown, i found it on craigslist, and a day later i picked it up, it came off a totaled tc, the salvage yard had no idea what brand it was or how much it retailed for. a brand new kami cf hood goes for around 750 bucks i think. i bought it for 50 bucks!!! no jk, it had some paint damage and the fiberglass had been cracked and seperated near the front of the hood. 250 bucks later this is the final product!! never going to sell it or trade it, ill bask it the greatness of it. as for rain in the engine, its not a problem the rain drips right in between the radiator and the headers. i have a trd s/cer and its not a problem bc the compressor is no where near the header.

To go along with the price drop they dropped the quality of the hood, either that or they didnt have quality in the first place.

When I received the hood finally (ordered it straight from Kaminari $540 with shipping) I had it painted just a simple black and clear coat for $150. It looks awesoome ya'll, I recommend it. Anyone get the Kaminari wing? I ordered it already, I think it looks amazing...anyone??

yes I did get the hood and like I said, the quality of the fitment is not as good as people claim it to be. The striker is too short to grasp the hood latch and the gaps from the fender are not anywhere near oem.

This is pretty accurate. I had the same issues with mine when i purchased in 07. except I paid $880 shipped for the CF hood.

Wow that really sucks to hear, and I think that's the first bad review I have heard about this hood. Is it possible you got one of the few thats defective (along with thequietthings)?

No, there are a few others who have the same problem. Im not saying this hood is a complete fail and that no one should buy it. The hood looks great and has better fitment then Seibon (fender wise). However like I said before, you need to experience this hood first hand to draw up your own opinion. Before I purchased the hood, I have heard nothing but praises on the quality and fitment. But when I received the hood, none of the features lived up to the compliments people gave it.

With that said, I had hope that Kaminari would be a company who would be able to produce a quality product with OEM fitment. I was wrong and what makes me even more sad is the fact that this hood has been on the market just as long as the tC. Even Alex at Kaminari told me that the striker has been an issue with some customers. If this is a reoccuring problem, Kaminari should have fixed it along time ago.
