my question is what the differance in the $400 kits and the $1000+ kits... they seem like they offer the same thing.

You changed your mind in a matter of 9 minutes? Haha. Good.
Quality. Vertical Doors, Inc I think is the first to produce the aftermarket lambo doors & supposedly owns the patent to the setup or something. I feel like I'm sounding stupid when I say that. But they always had the best quality so I've heard, so they hike up the price. If you get a cheaper setup the door tends to not line up, & some parts of it wear out quicker than others.
p.s. It's "waste", not "waist".

For one thing, more often than not, you do get what you paid for. Not only you have to consider the quality and cost of the unit, but also the people who're going to install it.
I don't have them, but one complaint I have heard is the enventual warping of the door (support) pillars. The doors of the tC are heavy afterall.

I had the VDC brand and the shocks gave out in less then 6 months since I opened them all the time since my tC is a daily driver.
IF you had a show only tC, or you could sneak out of the door without opening it up, then they should last a while for you. The other problem with our doors is they are long and heavy, so they will eventually need to be adjusted since they will sag on you.

quality, quality, quality!!!!!!!!
when it comes to lambo's never go cheap. if you get a cheap one the fitment will be bad, they may snap or bend (if snaps you may end up out of a complete door, ect....) this is al lstuff that you will read in threads if you search for lambo doors for about any type of car. so if you go through with this, spend the extra money and get a quality kit and probably be smart to go through a shop that is well known for doing them as well to know that they aren't take the easy route

There was a video posted in this forum that showed how much the vertical (not "lambo") doors were opened up and swayed like a **** in the wind... it looked like the car was gonna tip over...
I don't remember where the video is... but it was definitely not a quality kit.

Lol @ tc with vertical doors being clean
My Tc is my daily driver. My Tc has lambo doors. I'm 140 pounds so I can fit in and out very easily without opening the doors up. I have them for car shows and my kit is VDI installed by a pro shop certified by VDI. If you get a kit don't get an ebay kit they DONT work.
Its a love it or hate it thing but do it right
P.S. Sciontistical - lmao at your tc joke!
