Well this is one big ____ing contest that really isn't going to be going anywhere anytime soon.. this is all strictly a matter of opinion and own personal taste. Mod'n your tC or any Scion for that matter shouldn't be restricted soley on opinions and varying tastes.. everyone makes their own vehicle unique, regardless if your a racer, show car, or daily driver, its all what makes your vehicle stand out.

Heck, in Southern Maryland, I am only known when they say "the guy with the all black tC".. then everyone is like.. "Oooooo yeah" I like what I have done with mine thus far, and I like what I have planned, so I dont think its stupid to put vertical doors on a tC, in fact, I believe that it is a very intellegent move to put them on.. the main reason being is that the doors are more easily opened vertically, since they are so long.. You wont have to worry about dings that much.. should be reduced some.

Vertical doors are just something people use to make their car less like the one next to them...

I'd hate to see people pay too much for them, or not know what they are getting into getting them...(Maintenence, Time, Adjustments) but, for their use (Looks and Shock Value) they do their job well.
In total agreement

only problem ive heard/seen with the cheaper kits is fender sag, with the better kits (gas struts, not springs) a strut can fail, but warrenty usually covers it

first off,, if you leave your car sitting for any period of time, yes you will have to perform maintenance on your hinges. my driver side hinge seized up and had to be soaked in oil for 3 days before it would break loose. (this car was parked in a garage for 6 months). as far as the look, they look good as a finishing touch as others have said, not on a bone stock. and as far as daily driven, definitely not.

as big as the tc's doors are it would be convient for them to go up in the air, but only with the 90 degree kit. the other kits make it a pain in the butt to get in and out of your car. and alot of these kits say bolt on, but from experience, they arent all bolt on, and if you have no body work experience rolling the fenders is a pita. im not sure if the tc requires the fenders to be rolled but i would assume it does.

It doesn't... it only needs a little interior fender cutting... it's nothing extraordinary and ANYONE can do it.

They have a lifetime warranty... so if the struts fail, just get new ones!

Daily driving is a little tough with them, so That I wouldn't really suggest unless you want to commit.

im skeptical at cutting the fender. i had to do that on my old car, i cut it halfway up, didnt turn out as perfect as i would have liked. i definitely dont do good body work lol

The last ones (in the series of pictures) were "butterfly" doors.

Glad to see I'm not the first person to think Lambo mods are a weak way to compensate for something.

IMO lambo doors are the paradigm distinction for people with no class and no taste.

Show me a lambo door car that impresses me BEFORE the doors are open.. oh wait, there aren't any.

7 Posts and a lot of talk....

I'll do just fine and be impressive enough without my vertical doors thank you...

Don't NEED them, if you couldn't tell by the other 50 or so modifications... but, they do wonders to attract attention at shows and make people take a second look... That's all they are designed to do anyways, definately not for utility

NOOBS....

You get them from where you got the doors... should be full warranty if you got good ones.... if you bought the ebay crap, you're up a creek.... I'd just find the seller and get more from them... JTAutostyle replaced my failed right strut for FREE and next day air'd it to me... they're great....

Get your receipt and see what you can find... that's my best suggestion.
