supposedely phillips is just about the best u can get. i dont know how true that is but as i understand they are the leader. Phillips and Kaizen are the only ones to use sum sort of technology that i cant remember right now low. this wasnt a 100% helpful post but u get the idea. sumbodt will come in later and say whats really up with everybody. is ProLumen tight like that? Umnitza stands by them hard.
wish i could get 7000K tho....

from all of my research I have done, Philips is the only way to go. They are a reputable lighting company that produces most of the OEM HID products for manufactures. The only people I know of who are using and rebasing (so they fit halogen housings) philips ballasts and bulbs, is xenondepot.com. Everything else is pretty much junk, these no name kits with plastic ballasts, and 8000-12000k junk bulbs with little light output, the companys usually end up going out of buisness before your "warranty" is up anyways. Philips offers a 6000k Ultinon bulb, but IMO is too much color and not enough light. Stick to the 4300-5300k.
I have read good and bad things about prolumen, on various forums. To each is thier own, I researched for months before I pulled the trigger, and decided all philips is the only way to go.. I dont know if prolumen offers a wiring harness with thier kits (xenondepot does), but its the ONLY WAY TO GO, so you dont fry your factory wiring...

REBASING! thats what i was talking about. that is the technology that Phillips uses that Kaizen which is a Korean company that worked with Phillips, also uses as well. Kaizen is not as well known to the US customer but is also top quality. i bleve they are still a notch below phillips but are still not far behind.
thanx pmpnxb cuz i really didnt feel like doing the research to remember that rebasing was the term. lol
so does that mean that Phillips HID kits shouldnt cause glare or blind oncoming if they are used without Projectors?

Nope they will still cause glare, I ran the 4300k kit in the factory housings... and in all honesty it wasnt that bad at all. I never got flashed w. high beams, and never got a complaint from anyone. I just felt the need to retrofit, to get the true pleasure of HID lighting. The problem I had with the factory housings was that it scattered light on the ground, so the beams always looked uneven to me. I'm a lighting freak, so I retrofitted, but the HID output is amazing...
If you do decided to go HID without the projectors I would suggest aiming your headlights down just a few notches... Basicially if you pull up beheind a car, and your beams are reflecting off thier bumper and glaring you, chances are your glarin' the rest of the road...
If your about 75ft behind a vehicle and you can see your headlights on the vehicle in front of you's head rests they need to be aimed down.
