Default my custom made mesh grill...pics

Special thanks to neothin and skiboard72 for all the help and support through the project....sorry about all the questions btw

ANYWAYS

ok im 16 yrs old...if i can do this.anybody can do this....but keep in mind....it takes a lot of time and a lot of cuts. i left the bottom grill stock, i didnt have time 2 finish, i will some other day i find free time

It isnt perfect....the last pics u can see some things wrong...but for 14 bucks it was worth it, you cant tell any of these "imperfections" unless ur 1 foot away from the car

Input would be nice.....if u have something bad to say...say it nicely, lol

gah... why would you do that change it back, that just looks bad...

1. because it looks like window screen or chicken wire...
2. because you didnt put foam on the back of it, so we can see the stock horns, etc...

if i was your dad (who probably paid for your car), i'd cry that you ruined it...

sorry man, just because you are 16 (im 17) doesnt allow you to get away with bad work!

It's not like he couldn't easily put it back to stock.

To the OP, if you're happy with it, don't worry too much what others think.

instead of having it flat against the back of the opening, curve i towards the front of the car (if that makes any sense).

it woudl take me thirty minutes to go back to stock.....its the first time i've done a heavy mod on anything.....i'll probably coem up with a second and better version of the grill later on....but im very happy....it doesnt look cheap in real life, i guess with the flash it highlights some stuff....
i do appreciate that you guys r giving me input tho....keep it coming, bad or good, just keep em nice in word choice

Don't worry about the bashing, that comes with anything you have done yourself and post on here. Some people will like it and others won't.

As far as doing it yourself goes, good job on your first attempt. My only words of advice are to fix the couple blemishes you have on the grille. Eventhough you said you can only see them from 1 foot away, that is where the judges are going to be, if you go to any shows I mean.

Maybe take the piece of mesh you used on this attempt and use it as a template for the next try. On your next try go to Home Depot and get a couple of sheets of Gutter Guard, only two or three bucks a piece. It is a little thicker mesh, but you will still be able to see the stock horns behind it. Realy nothing you can do to stop that, at least without adding something else to it.

If you work, save a few checks and go with the Figure LLC grille. You can find it on ebay or e-mail him directly at loren.edwards@figurellc.com. It is about 120 or so to have it powdercoated black.

you can see through cause the flash...its rlly not that easy to see through...plus im gonna paint the stuff inside flat black...anyways i've driven 100 with this on at constant speed and it hasn't flown off.....im not trying to make my car "PIMPIN" i jsut want the look without the scion emblem. eventually i'll buy a grill...but its hard with school and soccer and stuff cause i dont have time for a job, but as soon as i can i'll save up for a real grill i agree with you 100%
