Default Need some vertical door questions answered PLZZ..

1. Does anyone know a kit where you don't have to roll fenders or do any other modification other than bolt on and electrical?

2. Does vertical doors effect the build quality of the car over time?
cause i know those doors are pretty dang heavy and i don't want those doors to rip a piece of my car off one day.

PS. Gettting my Scion tC today

1. Vertical Doors Inc. (supposedly no mods needed)
2. It would depend on how well you take care of them. IF you slam then or dont close the correctly on most kits it COULD cause problems. Honestly Vertical Doors Inc I have heard are one if not the best kit out there. Its more expensive but if you want to do it right pay a few extra bucks.

3! DO NOT BUT THE EBAY KITS! I would hate to see you get screwed on the cheap crap on there.

4 Congrats on the car. Let me know if you need anything else. I have a tC also and love it and you will too!

Jt autostyles are good too they're $900 for the tC but I'm not so sure on that price now. They say $899 on the site but a guy on another VD thread said they told him that they'll ship to him for $800 so they may have lowered the price but didn't update the site. I know JTA's are good because a friend of mine has them on his Neon and he luvs them. He's had no problem with them other than having to break the sideskirt from the molding on his R32 bodykit he put on. But the tC is fine unless you have a sideskirts before you get the doors put on. I would recommend VD, rims & tires, then a bodykit that way they mold the kit to fit the wheels and doors.

Default In my opinion, LSD is the best kit out there.

Alot of people talk about JTAuto like they are the best. I truely believe in you get what you pay for. I have lambo doors on my car and I have been reading these forums for months and never saying anything but in my opinion the best kit you can buy is LSD. With these doors I have the option of opening them out or opening them up. Most kits, the door just pops out then goes straight up then you have to squeeze yourself in to the car. In one of the pics you can see just how much clearance you have with the door up. Most kits is just some piece of metal that goes up and down, LSD goes out and then up and the part that goes up isnt some metal piece its actually like the shocks that hold the hatch up but only ten times stronger. I'll post some pics taken during the install so you can see what im talkin about. Im assuming this kit doesnt get spoken about because it costs so much but I think that there is certain mods you shouldnt short cut and this is one of them. Oh and the only cutting that was done was the fender lip, the lip sit out maybe 5cm give or take. it was cut so the door would be able to open out fully.

Look barefootbilly, everybody is entitled to there own opinion but dont be mad cause your profile shows a whole lot of OEM and no pics. Last time i checked i pay the car note on my tC so if i choose to mod my car then thats what I'll do. And do you even know what ricer means? Sorry buddy but lambo doors have nothing to do with ricer.

Its funny how its always the ones with nothing on their cars wanna criticize the most. Get a life.

Its real easy to close the doors actually, I just lightly pull down on the door till its all the way down and then pull it in. You can even do it with one finger.

Let it go. Your car looks like crap with those doors. Just my opinion. You represent most of why people hate scion owners, the "personalization" excuse is what civic owners used 5 years ago to warrant their spoilers and body kits. Way to keep the trend going!

Dude if you don't like the idea that Scions are MADE to personalize to your liking without voiding your warranty then why did you get one? I got mine because I can do almost anything to it without hurting my warranty. What kind of noob buys a car that is made to be customized and is against doing it? If you don't like the way Scion lets ppl do what they want to make they're cars look to good to they're liking then sell yours and get a G6 they look crappy no matter what you do to them.

Thomas

P.S. VI tc that kit is a good one but why pay so much for a kit when you still have to modify the fender. The JTA's are great doors. Gas shocks, can lift up and pull down with one finger, good price, no modification needed. I'm not bashin the LSD VD's they are good I've looked at them and they look great. Its just that it will take too long to get that kind of money to buy them and still have to modify my car to make them fit. From what I read though like I said before sounds like JTA's lowered the price by $100 (which I hope they did makes it easier to get). But thats a clean SW tC it looks real nice man.

Thats right, bow down to the VI_tC. My car is so clean you never would have known I had lambo doors if I didnt put that post up for the guy that was aking about them. Honestly Im trying to understand why you got a problem with my car. Its kinda funny to me now. You are the first person to ever tell me my car looks like crap. Where are your pics? Now no offense to other tC owners but i think a stock tC looks like crap. Lets put my car next to yours and see who gets more reviews, more attention. Dont be a hater cause I have the money to do what I want to MY car. The tC was made to be personalized, do you understand what personalized means. That means I can do what "I" want to "my" car. If you choose to keep yours stock then do what you do and keep your lame and negative comments to yourself. I dont really care what guys have to say, especially guys that have nothing done to their car. Sorry if you got a problem with what my car looks like but all in all, the ladies love it.

Why would you buy a tC and then bash other tC owners? As a matter of fact if you have a problem with Lambo doors why you even in this thread? The young man said he had questions about Lambo doors not how do people feel about Lambo doors.

Didnt your mother ever tell you if you have nothing nice to say dont say it at all. So once again, get a life. Maybe you need to let it go....

Good point unique_tc_upgradez about barefootbilly.

I understand cutting even 1cm off your fenders is considered modifying but whats 5 cm of metal? The fender lip was cut so the door would open as wide as it does. How far does JTA's open. I gaurantee not as wide as mine. My doors open wide enough that my boy who is a linebacker 5ft 9in 250lbs can walk right into my car without the doors being up. I think thats pretty good. So look at it like this, I traded my fender lip for the option of lifting my doors, when i feel like it, and I can still open my doors just as wide as a stock tC. I paid the money for quality, I did alot of research and I chose to go with these over the rest. Some kits over time will warp your fenders then the doors wont close properly or they dont fit properly and all that. I've seen some cars where the fender sticks out or the door has gaps and it just looks nasty. Over time you will spend more money to repair than I spent to get the kit. Plus I have my warranty from LSD and the bodyshop that worked on my car cause they've installed several different kits before and LSD is the only kit they will warranty.

Thats why I spent the extra money. The option of not having to lift the doors up, only when I want to or for show purposes. And they're crash test rated....how many kits are?

I have no idea how far the JTA's open but I do know they look good. My main reason for getting those are that there are no shops around here that will do that to a car and warranty it without charging an arm and a leg. It's hard enough to get my dad to let me get VD's period much less cutting 5cm off of my fender. I wouldn't mind doing it since I could still open them outwards but its hard for me to get the money and find a place to do it. That's why I stick with customizations that I can do myself. Do you know if they'll lower the price for holidays or not? lol I might be able to get one then.

Check out the website, I really think if you read up on it you'll be sold. Maybe even your dad. The website goes into detail with alot of things unlike other VD kits.

They dropped the price from when i bought it, now its $1699.00. I dont know if they do holiday specials or not but just keep checkin out the website.

Whats the degree they raise up bpsciontc? I know they don't go up 90 degrees. I think it's what 60-75 degrees?

VI I want the LSD's but the problem is when you work a minimum wage job getting 15-25 hrs a week for insurance, car payments and gas. While going to college full-time, and still try to fit church in it's hard. It's either money for my car or my grades, and my grades are already slipping but I can't afford to ask for less hours or else I'll have no money what so-ever. If I do go w/ the LSD's then it'll take me I know well over a year to do it. And there ain't a snowballs chance in hell of my dad lettin me get those doors. Main reason cutting the fender. It's all I could do to talk him into lettin me get JTA's and a CF hood.
