New Blue Bat Eyelid Overlay!!
Attention all HID kit owners! (as well as those rockin' the halogens but seeking an aggressive look)
I am proud to announce that after speaking to Blue Batmobile, there will be a new eyelid available for our tC's!
I was inspired after I purchased my new 4300k HID kit from MobileHID. I bought them despite reading about the glare that HID kits produce because I got tired of waiting for certain projectors. I must say that I haven't been flashed by anyone, and I've noticed that our headlamps produce little glare compared to other cars I've seen (I commend Toyota for this!). Regardless, when you pull up to a wall, this is what you see:
(FYI: The car was parked about 15 feet from the wall. I set the timer and placed the camera near the wipers. My tC is sitting on TRD springs and the headlamps have not been adjusted in any way.)
As you can see, each headlamp produces a nice squarish hot spot... and then some. So I immediately went to work to figure out a way to eliminate this.
I am happy to show you the result:
As you can see, the glare has been significantly reduced. I will refrain from saying that it has been eliminated, but the pictures speak for themselves. The "cutoff" is more pronounced than before.
The solution? Well, for now, precisely placed electrical tape since the prototype version of these eyelids are in the mail. However, these eyelids will be similar to the current ones Blue Bat sells, except that they will extend past the eyebrow thus covering the glare. This will also result in a slimmer, aggressive looking headlamp.
Well, that is all the sneak peek we can give you for now. I will be receiving and installing these eyelids by this weekend. I will update this thread with new pictures after the installation so everyone can see what these eyelids will look like. If you like and want to purchase, you can email Blue Bat at bluebatmobile@san.rr.com. He has several versions of this eyelid, so I'm not sure yet what this one will be called. (Hey Bat, I thought of some names for you: the "fastandcurious eyelid"; the "hid eyelid"; the "aggressive-er eyelid")

In case anyone is interested, I took turns covering one headlamp at a time and observing the "cutoff". Here are the results:

I can spot the difference, you just have to look right above the bright spots and youll notice that some flashes of light are gone. Now just have to wait for the prototype pictures on the car
