HIDs are great, theres no denying it. but there illegal for a good reason. In a reflective housing (like the tC has) it spreads the pattern so that instead of focusing the light pattern on the road, it blinds everyone else on the road. It loks great, you can see better, but it puts the other drivers on the road with you at risk because you are blinding the hell out of them. If you really want HIDs get a retro.

Other than that im not a fan of Silverstars, everyone that has them ends up getting rid of them a couple months after they have them. They tend to burn out quickly. I am a big fan of PIAA Xtreme Whites. They work extreamly well.

Imagin, I learned long ago there's no point to trying to tell people about HIDs. They'll just ignore you and say "oo the cutoff is good enough, I'm not blinding anyone"

Yup, until someone comes out with a decent set of projectors for the tC... the only option is to do some research, work, and spend quite a bit of money to get a good retrofit. Whether that's worth it to ya is entirely up to you. Different people have different priorities.

I'm just flat broke so yea

Yea but even so, its worth repeating. If one child listens, he can be called a man for not making the rice decision to go HID in a headlight that was never designed for it. I wish Scion had an option like they did with the Celica for HIDs but we will see.

Ya, you could type it out until your fingers are raw... it wouldn't make a difference. The kids will always want "HIDs" ... with some crappy plug n play kit.

Agree with you Imagin. I'll keep my Silverstars in until someone makes a quality headlight with projectors. Hopefully the '08 headlights will fit.

oh, and I've had the same set of Silverstars for 2 1/2 years!

Wow... thanks for contributing...

Have you seen a side by side? There's a pretty big difference between OEM and silverstars. And there are plenty of people on the forums who would be looking for just such pictures...

that's a big opinion from someone who only has 9 posts

Pics of headlight comparisons have been on SL, well, since it first started. Finding out which is the best as far as light output and color temps can only be exampled by good pics. Sure this post could have been avoided by doing a simple search for silverstar pics, but we're not here to discourage people from asking questions OR helping.
