Outcast Horizon Air Diversion Pannel
Hey guys. Not sure this is in the right section so please excuse me if it is in the wrong one. My name is Sean and I run a small business out of my home making a few parts for cars. Mainly I make parts for the Mitsubishi Starion, Dodge/Chrysler Conquest. One of the guys I work with has a 2005 tC and I made him a prototype aluminum Air Diversion Pannel.
The part still needs a few minor tweeks but that is the over all shape the part would be. The prototype part is made from some scrap aluminum we had around the shop but the finished parts would be made from 6061 T6 Aluminum.
I am basicly seeing if there is any interest in having these parts made as a group purchase. If there is I can start working up some pricing for you guys and go from there. I am also interested in making these for other cars.
Please let me know what you guys think.
site mods, if this dose go threw I will pay for the advertiseing thing. We spoke a while back and I have not forgotten how you run your site

As far as pricing goes, the part is close in size to the ones I made for the Starions and Conquests. With luck I can get them for $50 shipped for atleast 10 people. If 20 $45 shipped and 30 or more should go for about $42 shipped but I have to confirm pricing with my laser shop to be sure. Laser cutting is paid primarily by time spent on the machine, not material used. And with recent gas prices everything becomes more expensive. But with luck that should be the prices. I will let you guys know for sure once I have the information.
Please let me know if there is anything you guys would like to see changed so that I can make this as best as posible.

I would say extend it on the left and right side so it isnt a square cutoff. Have it go to the headlight. I might be in need of a new one, my greddy is all scratched up and not show worthy.

I like the design but i agree it does need to extend to the headlights. The bumpstops come off easily, only a matter of drilling a couple more holes for them.
I would be interested once I see final design.

hmm.. santa cruz..? i live a little bit close by.. got my car from there too... looks like you're in between me and santz cruz.. i'm in san jose.
for now, as long as this is an interest only thread, that'll be fine, once sales and pricing are finalized, it's when SL asks you to help sponsor the site.

ok, I am getting together with the guy today to do some work on the part. May end up making a new prototype to make the mods some of you guys asked about. The only thing is that this will most likely be made from black abs since we dont have any more peices of aluminum left at the shop large enough for a second part. but dont worry. The real parts will be cut by a laser shop that I have been working with for a few years now. They have lots of Aluminum

Got most of the new template done today. Guy who owns the car was installing HIDs so I didnt get a lot of time to do what was needed but did fix a few little things and got the template closer to the lights. I might even be able to curve it up over the lights a tiny bit too but not sure. my main concern is the right side of the part where the hood prop goes. If I extend it out that far its very little metal holding the end on. And yes, it still covers the fan shroud.
