definately worth the money jan. i got mine installed last night finally!!!!! and it is hella brighter and looks better. just make sure you have time and patience to tear apart the hatch as well as a long 10mm socket for the 4 behind the "scion" panel that holds the plate lights

The hatch removal is actually really simple once you know how to do it. The first time for anything is tough, but there's really nothing to it. It's mostly just popping off panels. And even if you don't have a deep socket for those bolts, you can use pliers to twist them off. I did.

definately agree. ya it was first time taking the hatch interior off to do it, other than that it was easy. ya i still hadn't unpacked the other tools from the move so just had my socket set and screw drivers that i usually take with me everywhere in case someone needs em at shows or meets.

The hardest part for me was taking out the two black clips holding the darker panel in place. God damn those bastards didn't even want to move.

The only black clips I can think of are the hinges at the back corners of the large panel. I left them attached and just allowed the panel to swing down and hang from the hinges - no need to remove them.

^ I think we're talking about the same thing there. But, I find it easier to remove that whole panel to get to the tbl.

I just received the replacement today and installed it. So far everything good, so thanks Phil for the fast shipping, customer service and great product. Lights are a bit uneven but hey, I am not complaining .

I don't think the lights are uneven at all. Look at it from straight back like 10 feet.

I think if you look at it from directly above and just a foot back it could appear uneven.

i'm planning to get the red lens tbl.. like ASAP.. but I'm torn between the oznium and the vrd... is there any difference between the two? i've ordered cathodes from oznium before and i know how awesome their customer service is, but i dunno about vrd. Would anyone like to chime in?

I have Oznium product, but have not ordered from VRD yet so don't know. But, VRD's cost a lot more. If you go that route, fill out a survey to get their % discount coupon.

right now, vrd has a 40% off their msrp on the tbl... but it doesnt apply to the redded out tbl.. only the smoke and clear.. so if i got one of those, it would be a couple dollars cheaper than oznium..

i guess what i meant by the differences...would be fitment and which one was brighter and if the lights were straight..i know oznium has great service (they sent me a replacement cathodes after one was shattered thru the mail asap..

if you look what vrd did is they increased their prices so they're still making the same amount of money. they have very shady business practices

yeah, i read about that lol, they do what bestbuy and all those other guys do... but yeah, after you apply the discount, they're about the same price as the oznium one.. thats one "turn-off" about vrd..
