Philips D1S HID question?
Is it possible to convert a phillips D1S hid kit, into a D2S kit?
which is better D1S or D2s,
has anyone managed to put D1S(i have ones from an escalade) in to the stock scion headlight, doesnt need to be perfect either, just want it to work!!

well do you have a d1s ballast? I believe the d1s has a built in ignitor and should look like this....
If i had to put hids in stock housings i would use d2r bulbs which are made for halogen type cars that come equiped with HID's. Just because their made for them doesnt mean their made for every halogen. The ones that their made for (i.e. Infiniti, Lexus, Cadillac) their reflector is also made for HID's. d2r should look like this...

Also, can the bulb be separated from the ignitor to have the bulb replaced a lone, or would i have to buy the ignitor/hidbulb together, because from what ive been lookin at so far, the D1S ignitor/hidbulb are twice as much as the D2S hid bulbs
