also....are you stating that it doesn't close fully but the pins do their job of holding the hood down on the highway, or that the pins have no use cause they're slanted....

the hood closes fully, and i still have the factory latch in place.. so thats what holds the hood from flying off and becoming a freezbee, but the actual part of the pin that locks the hood in place wont lock. its hard to explain without having a visual of what im talking about.
