It's a shame that car alarms are being depicted as a source of irritation. When I hear car alarm goes off, I only think that someone roughly drove by the vehicle or it is a cause of some accidental vibration in the surrounding. Unless it is your car, you'll probably mitigate your caution when other cars’ alarm goes off anyway.

Does theft rate really matter? Why would that change your decision? Everyone has auto insurance. The odds of it being your car stolen are slim, and if someone wants it, they will take it reguardless.

I don't know what other car you're comparing to, but the tC theft rate is most likely going to remain lower than the Civic because of the sheer number of Civics on the road. Whenever there's more models of a car on the road there's going to be more demand for parts, legal and illegal.

Yea I agree with everyone else. I think car alarms (imo) are a big waste of money. Your money is best well spent with lojack then a car alarm.
I actually think the tC theft rate might go up. I see a lot of tCs now on the road than Civics (maybe it's because I live in socal). All these girls driving tCs and old ladies. I have nothing against them, but it just makes the tC a Civic now.
