yea alarms are pointless.. Go with a killswitch and maybe a wheel shoe.. and if you can afford it get GPS so you can track it after it is stolen (although it will probably be torched)..

I heard one report of a hot tc going for $800 in at the illegal street races someplace in nj... No one wanted it so after a few minutes the guy torched it...

These are pretty easy to steal, like most cars. If someone wants it then it will take no more then 5 minutes to be in and out...

and I know a civic that had an alarm (disabled in half a beep), steering wheel lock, and maybe some more stuff that was stolen not too long ago. It was done right out in the open in a parking lot..

If you want to deter a thief get an Auto lock. It goes on the break or clutch pedal depending on your trans. I had it on my Integra and it never got stolen. It is the best and cheapest security other then a kill switch. I also have Lojack on my cars as well, which I believe will help out in case it was stolen.

i'm not so worried about the theft, just the haters. i've had my car for like three weeks and i've already gotten my driver side window broken and eggs thrown at my car.

The problem with Scion Security is that the horns can be easily disabled by removing the front grill. I do have Scion security as well but have moved my horns.

I actually think the tC theft rate might go up. I see a lot of tCs now on the road than Civics (maybe it's because I live in socal). All these girls driving tCs and old ladies. I have nothing against them, but it just makes the tC a Civic now.
^agreed with alarms being a waste. on topic if yiou mod your car and make it stand out then thats going to attract some unwanted attention...its just the chance you take.
