Brilliant....a bit of a hassle but certainly the only truly effective way of not losing the mast. I had mine for 16 months and it was only hand tightened. I must have been lucky.

... i'm telling you, just put some liquid nails on the thread and under the antenna and it will not ever come off lol.. of course if you want to ever replace it, you'll probably have to break it and remove the fender to get to the housing where it screws.. unless it screws to your chassis... then you're screwed heh..

The Red Loctite is for permanent non-removavle threadlocking application. Then how is this Red Loctite different than any regular superglue since regular superglue can do the same job and cost a lot less than Red Loctite ($6 at Home Depot).

super glue is an ethyl-cyanoacrylate based glue that cures completely differently than the dimethacrylate-ester based loctite threadlocker.

super glue i'm sure can help in thwarting efforts to remove the antenna.. but unlike the red loctite.. it'll be much easier to remove.

threadlockers are designed to cure without any air (anaerobic).. unlike the cyanoacrylate based super glues which needs water or humidity or whatever hydroxyl ion blah blah in the material

super glue just doesn't have as much strength in this application.

look it up

It would be my luck if I used thread-lock they'd bend my roof all to hell trying to get it off. Or just get ____ed and kick the crap out of my car.

If somebody wants mine that bad they can have it.

maybe i just don't understand, but if someone wants to try and steal the antenna, and they end up breaking it off, or bending the panel trying to get it, where does that leave the owner?

Exactly what I was saying in my post above. You want my antenna? Take it. I won't make it difficult to steal.....for the sake of my car.

I hate thieves so much. I had my S2K antenna on one night before it got stolen...weak. I'm running without one at the moment, don't even want to bother with stock. This Loctite stuff sounds nice though, might try it.

The best advice: Put a good coat of wax on the antenna. Spray it down with pepper spray. We all know what will happen after someone tries to take it the next time.

^^^ i was thinking something along those lines...or embed a discreet xacto blade near the base... that might result in the car getting the poop kicked out of it, tho...

I installed the s2k antenna and now the radio doesn't come in clearly. Is this the case with the shorter antenna?

Well go figure, but my S2000 antenna was stolen off of my car last night and I've just replaced it with the stocker for now.

Time to go to the honda dealer and get one along with some red Loctite. F*cking lame.

Also, this profanity filter gets annoying.
