I just got mine in yesterday and should be putting them in later on today. I remember a thread of pics of these installed but forgot to save it. I'll take pics as I go through the install on mine then to help anyone for future reference.

Found the thread
DIY: How To Install NRG Hood Shocks!!!

Well I tried following the thread above and did it exactly the way he pictured and when I closed the hood it looked as if I had washers put on the hinges. I tried flipping the bracket so it points to the outside and couldn't even close the hood at all! Also the hinge bolt doesn't even go all the way through the bracket, widening that helped with the bolt seating on the bracket and was able to tighten the bolt how it should have. I just got tired of messing with it tonight, took off the dampers(left all brackets in place) and maybe try again tomorrow.

haha i forgot what the issue is. i know what is wrong, its the piping for the windshield washers. you can see i rerouted mine. There is the white plastic peace that hold it in place. I ripped it off and used a zip tie to hold it. I forgot cuz i couldn't see it in the OP's pics.

The hood angle is reduced, can't say how many degrees but it makes the OE hood prop useless. I have my hood prop sitting in the hatch right now, took a bit of twisting to get it out. Still haven't put the dampers back in.

ya, it works fine. the angle is a little less. that's the reason for the OP's fitment issue. I didn't get the redline one because i didn't want to drill anything.

fitment is ok. It raises the hood a bit.

In for pics lol. If you could take a pic of the corner of the hood back by the hinges(preferably the passenger side) that'd be great, mine was raised a bit. I'll try rerouting the windshield washer fluid line to see if that helps. Also would like to see a pic of the whole setup(you said you have the ball joint side of the bracket pointed to the outside). I put a clip on YT of mine online with the brackets pointed out and that it wouldn't close.

I'd like to see vids of Ace83's and anyone elses hood open and close with these installed, and also what year is everyone's tC. I set mine up similar to Ace83's(minus angleing the bracket) and it never closed. Search NRG damper tC and you'll find the vid I made. It's on y0utube my profile is 202tC. I still have yet to try messing with the dampers again.

^^ i have an 06. the reason i angled it so it would close.. What i did is bolted the bracket a bit loose then i closed the hood, i opened the hood and the bracket settled on that position that means thats where the hood damper wants the brackets to be
