problems with nrg hood damper fit
#41
ugg!! i tried to played around adjusting the damper and I destroyed the balljoint housing! the lock pin got ripped away from the ball housing and now its useless.. anyone knows if I could buy a replacement on that part? Anyways I noticed you can install the damper in two ways, with the damper on the side of the hood or with damper on the side of the engine bay, it works and closes both ways.. I also tried installing the ball inwards and it still makes that gap.. I believe its the damper giving constant pressure on the hood even when closed so its gonna give that gap no matter what.. and oh its safer to install the ball joint outwards

I finally got an updated vid of the hood closing how it should. I have my brackets set up just like Ace83's. The clearance of the balljoint(at the hood) of the damper is close to none as it is making a little groove the way it is now, but the dampers do their job. One thing to check for before you put the bracket on the hood is to make sure the bolt actually goes through the hole. I had mine drilled wider a bit and the bolt clears no issue and grips the bracket tighter.
