Default Question about Fix it tickets

I recently got a ticket for window tints on my car. Theyre 35% all around, nothing crazy but the highway patrol stopped me for them. He said I need to take them off then get my car inspected at the local police station. I have no problem with that.

my question is, can I just pay the full price of the ticket while leaving the tints on and not get it inspected? I mean yes I know its a bit dumb, but I dont want to take them off because its such a hassle and I know I will just get them put on again later. Yeah im a loser

anyways any help is appreciated, Thanks guys.

Unless you know somebody in the CHP that can sign it off, you're screwed.
Cali needs your $$$.

Im not sure about CA but here in VA you can just pay the ticket. I have had 2, 1 on my old car and one on the tC and I just paid them.

Have you received your 'mail notice' from the county? It'll tell you what your options are.
My mail notice let me pay a hefty fine and skip the inspection part. Now I just avoid the area where I got the ticket.

^^Front side windows are 70% which means nothing, and you can have whatever on all the back windows

From what I know you can't have you're front windows tinted (windshield, driver front, passenger front) but anything in the back is fine.

I don't know cali laws, but now in MN it sucks! We don't even get the chance of a fix it ticket. Now it's just a regular ticket and they just multiply in price when you get caught a second time if you don't take em off

No, sorry, gotta remove it and have them sign-off here in CA. If you really want tint, you can just put it back on again afterward...with the risk that you'll repeat this scenario.

I got a fix-it ticket for my tints (5% in FL) by highway patrol. The guy told me I need to pay it and remove the tint and have it signed off. I paid the ticket and kept my tints LOL! My solution? ..Not only do I watch out for sheriffs, I now watch out for highway patrol ESPECIALLY since they are like traffic ****'s. I do drive stupid every now and then (gotta have my fun lol).

Cali laws suck big time! No wonder people break into cars so much there! Just find someone you know that knows a cop to sign it off for you saying it was fixed and give that to the police station while driving a different car. I've done that a few times in Maryland. Works like a charm! Either that or keep your naked girlfriend in the passenger seat at all times so the cop changes his attitude. Make sure she is albino so you have a reason for the tint! lolz jk jk

but what about the female police officers?!?! looks like both of you should be naked, and both be albino. just to cover your bases lol

No, don't pay, it's an easy DIY. Get some regular one-sided razor blades, or a razor-scraper from auto parts store or home depot. Fairly easy to get an edge started, then the tint comes off in big pieces. There will likely be some glue residue left on the window, but you can get most of it using the razor blade, then finish with glass cleaner.

I had to do it on my old Sentra for the same reason, ticket for tint, no front plate and 73mph in a 55, something like 15yrs ago.
