Question about RS tC
in order to buy RS Series parts do you just need the VIN number? if so i know where a RS tC thats dead at the Yard, and i can get the VIN. i dont care if its cheating, but can i order from Scion with the VIN?

Yes. I went to get a quote yesterday for the RS 3.0 Tail Lights and the Upper Grille and they only asked for the VIN. I'm not sure if they checked the VIN or not but it took them quite a while to get the quote.

how much did they quote you by chance? i've been curious about getting my hands on some RS3 taillights.

the tails are like twice the price of the regular TYCs
and depending on how friendly the dealership is, you could need nothing but to ask to as much as a title showing the RS is in your name and a blood sample showing you are you, lol.
i would bet that 9 times out of 10 you just need a VIN and that would pull up the right parts for the RS. when i bought my kenstyle lip i didnt need to give a VIN (i had one though anyway)
and then later when i went and asked another dealer for the price on another RS part i needed the VIN, but thats all i needed to buy the part.

just because you gave them a vin to give you a price on parts doesnt mean they won't ask for further information before purchasing the part. plus, why don't you just take the parts you need off the rs in the yard?

i thought it was 6/700 for the set last i went into it. that much per tail would be especially pricey i think, but not really surprising, was almost $2k for my front and rear kenstyle.
