rear scion emblem removal help
to start out i used the seach to read all the posts about removing the emblems and i got the front scion off with no problems as well as the tC with no problems but the rear scion emblem is giving me the most difficult time. I used a small flathead screwdriver and a hair dryer to remove the others but when trying to remove the rear scion ive chiped it twice and scratch my paint once. ive used goo gone, dental floss and a hair dryer but cant get the damn thing off. what am i doing wrong? The dental floss keeps snapping. any help please.

did you remove the garnish off completely? You can remove the rear piece the emblem is on and i believe it has 2 clips in the back of it. Just remove all the plastic parts from the rear hatch, and its 3 i believe 10mm bolts holding it down, remove it and it should make things easier for you.
hope it helps

oh and I swapped my rear piece for a carbon fiber one because once you remove the badge, you still have that ugly hole for it and it looks like someone stole your badge instead of the clean look your looking for.

yea i thought about take that piece off but wasnt sure if it was that simple. once i do that it should definitilty make it easier.
i was planning on spray painting it flat black, i want to go for the blacked out stealth look.
thanks for the info, i will try it tomorrow.

Hold the hair dryer on it 'till it's hot to the touch (like your car's been sitting in the sun on a 90 degree day) then gently wedge your screw driver between it and the garnish. Once there's enough space to use your fingers, just move around the outside of the emblem while pulling.
Taking off the garnish piece seems like too much trouble to me.
Edit-
I used a plastic spatula to get mine off the first time.

i recently took all my emblems off and painted them. i took some electrical tape and put it on the car as close to the rear emblem as i could so that way when i took a small flathead screwdriver to try to get it off it would'nt scratch or chip my paint. once i got it away from the car i lil i took a hobby knife to cut the emblem away from the glue

i'd take the garnish off and heat it from the inside, so the adhesive side, that hold the emblem to the garnish softens so the adhesive stays on the emblem, and not the garnish, and it should come off cleanly, so it looks better (perfect) when u put it back on.

thanks for the ideas guys. the spatula ended up doing the trick easily, in like 2 minutes i had it off. just enough strenght and softwares the spatula was the tool for the job! the emblems are drying as i type this.

yeah i actually jus spray painted mine flat black, it real easy to take off, but make sure u dont scratch the actual body of the car taking it off with a screw driver or flathead. Best idea is fishing line if thats around. Thats how I did it and it looks real good.

clear coat it! but some hobby grade flat clear to keep it from fading or scratching! if not a year from now it will chip off bad! and i hope u used some adhesion promotor or sanded the emblem a tad! we all know how hard it is the paint plated chrome emblems! or we should!
