1. Why post a thread about removing and re-applying an emblem?
2. Why do the blacked-out emblem when your 'getting rid of the car in a couple of months'?
I just kind of think its a waste to do the project if you're going to get rid of the car. (No offense.)

1. I wasnt sure how to re-apply it when the adhesive is melted
2. I like the way it looks
It was a 10 minute job. Im getting another tC but in stick so everything I've put into my car can be put on the new one (I have all the stock parts) the only things I cant carry over are the tints and the emblem.

Use Goo Gone to remove the adhesive then use wax bring back the luster.
The "tC" emblem is just held on with the adhesive. The "Scion" emblem has alignment pins on it. So it won't be smooth.
Plus, there's an indention left behind when you remove the "Scion" emblem. That's the part that people have filled in to get a badge-less garnish.

like this?
depends what kind of finish you're after. if you want ultra flat black like i did, look for the ultra-flat camoflauge paint in the auto store. if you don't mind a little gloss, you can use any spray paint meant for plastic, it'll say 'for plastics' on it (like krylon).
old pic but you can see it better here..
also good idea to do it with the grill off the car, sand the whole pieces down to and use a primer if you want it to last. i didn't use any clearcoat as i wanted it to be as flat-black as possible.
