Ok well my "friends" tell me that im ___ and whatever because my car is rice...
now i think thier standards are whack.
so i would to get the feedback on scionlife.
ok well
i have tyc taillights smoked.
i have a dc sports front strut tower bar
i have trd springs (currently off and for sale)
i have greddy rear strut bar
i have dc sports exhaust
i have flip out screen(soon to be repleaced by avic d1)
and two 15" subs
i have plasmaglow fusion underbody lights.
i have modded ps2
i have 18" motegi dp12 wheels
thats about it....or atleast what i can think of off the top of my head.

i think it looks "nice" nothing to applealing
nothing that says hey look at me
i dont ride with my lights on
i dont blare my subs
i clean it far to often
i think its justs looks like a nice car.
kinda that refined porche look to it.
but thats just me.
so what do you all think
am i the biggest ricer?
or are my friends idiots.

oh yea...
and the big thing that appently makes me rice is that i dont have any hardcore horsepower mods. instead only suspension and whatnot.? whatever.

Your "friends" sound like a-holes, who cares what they think. Your car sounds cool to me. Just remember, it's your car, so do what you like... As for being "rice" it seems that any mod on a car makes it "rice" to some people....

One of my "friends" in HS would call my old car the "Rican mobile" somewhat in jest but it annoyed me. It didn't even make sense, he just did it to get a reaction from me. I just laughed it off. He had a modified Mustang that cost him the same amount as my car. After laughing off his Rican mobile comments one day I pointed out that my Civic cost the same amount as his car and was a lot faster 0-60 when his car was in the shop all the time or when it snowed. After a few years he ended up selling his Mustang and getting a 4-door V6 Accord with Navi. We both laughed about it.

Man your friends have issues. Forget em. I have a friend that has an older mustang and he tries to make fun of my car. It's one of those moments where you just have to look at them and laugh... not with them, but at them.

neons are freakin awesome. people call my car rice alot(most of em here on SL) but its your car, if it makes you happy, dont care what anyone says.

I would say bolt on power mods are more rice than suspension mods. That isn't to say I think power mods are rice, just that suspension mods on the tC make more of a difference than a CAI would I think. A turbo is a bit much - it's expensive and costs a lo of premium fuel down the line so may be impractical.

Definitely, suspension mods make the most sense on a tC. With such a high center of gravity, a tC would need to be dropped at least an inch for serious "racing" and any "real" race can be won with superior handling.

Anecdote time: my friend in a 91 Corolla challenged my other friend in an IS300 (the same dude that got beat by a MINI if you read that thread in Corner Carvers) to an endurance race from Irvine to Santa Monica (about 50-70 miles) and the Corolla won by sixteen minutes. Moral of the story? 100hp can beat 215hp with better suspension tuning by 15 minutes per 50 miles.

In anycase, they're probably thinking about rice as a car that is slow and flashy. So long as you don't tote yourself around as a fast car driver than there's really nothing they can say. I would say they're even worse than a ricer if they're so hung up on the image that they want to portray as not a ricer.

i think the underbody lights are probably the thing thats making ur car ricy.. other then that doesnt sound so bad.. pics would help tho..

i understand the thing with the underbody's
but they are 7 color...and they are litterly never on....ive turned em on twice (both at local night car show)
I mean yea its one thing if drove around with em on.
but i just dont.
