Scratches in the clear coat
Hey guys... i just recently bought a scion tc 2009 release 5 and my dog put its front paws on the car door and went down the door.. I am pretty sure the scratches are just in the clear coat. Whats the best kit or method to get rid of the scratches. I am pretty bumbed right now about all the scratches

No, dont listen to these guys. Go get yourself a OEM toyota paint pen. Wash car, wax car (cleaner wax), CLAYBAR car - then apply paint pen (in garage if possible, and let it setup over night) you want it indoors so no dust/bugs get on the paint. Next day, get out your buffer, and use a mild cutting compound (do not use a "cleaner" wax this time around, use a polish wax).
Practice using the paint pen on something else first. You dont want your first shot at it to come out gooey/too thick. Use another piece of junk metal (if you have it) and re-create the scratches with a nail or screw. Just to get your technique down.
Honestly, your looking at about 45 minutes worth of work. Your car will look brand new again when done.

Oh yeah, the way to tell how bad your scratch is - take your fingernail (NO PRESSURE applied) and slide it across the scratch(es). If you can FEEL the scratch, your damage is through the clear, and into the underlying paint. No worries, just do the above process.

go to sears and get a buffer, and then some wool buffing pads.
if its deep you might have to hit it with a rubbing compound, but all my sorta deep scratches come out with wax.
heres a before
and after, not completely gone. but all i used was a buffer and wax.
goes to show you dont need to get the paint pen, if that doesnt work try different compounds and if that doesnt work then you can color sand.
