Default Shocker Decal???

So what is the "story" / significance behind the shocker decals? Is it just a JDM culture thing or what? I obviously know what "The Shocker" is, but don't understand why people put them on their cars especially Scions....

i think the appeal of the gesture lies in the fact that it's obscene, and only young people presume to know what it means. the decals probably gained popularity as an extension of that, as if to say, "i'm insulting you, and you don't even know it. haha pwn."
oh, and thanks, c, for the extraordinarily long linestring. my scrollbar hasn't gotten this much use in a while.

Since you brought up the topic, I thought I had to share this. it's made it's way into the government / military, and somehow this got through the Public Affairs office.

I think the two lighting bolts on the left are the index and middle finger, the one on the right is the pinky. Gotta love the slogan as well. This must be pretty old though as the F/A-18G is now officially the "Growler". It will be replacing the EA-6B "Prowler" as the Navy / Marine Corps electronic warfare and countermeasures air vehicle.[/url]

I have a shocker sticker on my back bumper above the exhaust, fingers facing the exhaust. I just get a kick out of it because all my friends laugh and say ask if it was my intention to "imply" that I would give my car the shocker, if it had the necessary equipment for such a move. Which indeed it was. Got to show love for your car.

It's not to insult anyone, it's for my own enjoyment. I've had a shocker on my car for a year and a half, before everyone else had them. Hey, somebody got the tribal arm band and originated it before it was whored.

IMO it's better than the no fear girls plastered all over every 2dr, 4dr, SUV, lowered stock 82 GMC with daytons and altezza tails, etc. Once it gets that bad THEN it'll come off.
