Default side vent fog lights

I came across on the web a pair of fog lights that fit the side vents and almost looked like the fog lights on the 2012, but were made for the 05 - 09 tc. Now I look and look and can't find them at all.

They were black housing with round lens. Anyone see something like this out there on the web.

Thanks, jjp

If I'm not mistaken, those are the "spyder" lights which a few sites say they fit on the tC, but they DO NOT. That, or you're looking for IS300 fog lights modified a bit to fit the tC.

VRD fog lights is what you need to find. Meng Motorsports sells them. No clue what this "spyder" fog lights dude is talking about.

Theyll fit. u jus have to make sure u order the right "series". those foglights have a bracket that bolts to them from the back side of the bumper so regardless they wont be going anywhere.

Fog lights were my mistake on my tC.. They don't do much unless if HIDs are in them.

fog lights are meant for other people to see you.. not really for you to see more..
so.. HIDs in foglights are overkill.. and dangerous.

Lol what?
The fog lamps' job is to show you the edges of the road, the lane markings, and the immediate foreground. When used in combination with the headlamps, good fog lamps weight the overall beam pattern towards the foreground so that even though there may be a relatively high level of upward stray light from the headlamps causing glareback from the fog or falling rain or snow, there will be more foreground light than usual without a corresponding increase in upward stray light, giving back some of the vision you lose to precipitation. When used without headlamps in conditions of extremely poor visibility due to snow, fog or heavy rain, good fog lamps light the foreground and the road edges only, so you can see your way safely at reduced speeds.

sorry, i was responding towards this..

HIDs are.. and will project light more than needed and safely for its purpose inside a fog/driving lamp assembly.

there are reasons why traditional fog lamps are colored yellow.. they are indeed meant to project more light towards the foreground... used to cut thru fog, heavy rain, and snow... however a good MAJORITY of people... pretty much have them for cosmetic purposes.

i will not take back what i said about having HIDs in fog lamps overkill and being potentially dangerous.. it WILL cause unnecessary glare be bounced back to the driver.. and also project glare to other drivers on the road. yes, you can have excessive foreground illumination..

and using fog lamps without headlamps?? afaik, that's not legal to do at all... or did you mean using fog lamps with your headlamps?

but here's the sad and ugly truth... people who have them, use them when they aren't needed.. and vice versa.. where people don't use them when they are needed. which brings me back to what i mentioned.. it's mostly cosmetic.. and if anything.. is as useless as DRLs.. where hmmm. DRLs are for what exactly? for you, the driver?? oh no.. it's so other people see you.

Ha you make a valid point and I am not saying you are completely wrong but fog lights do have a purpose, whether or not people correctly use then is another story. Used Correctly they will help you see the sides of the road and enhance your peripheral vision. Just because a majority of people ant use them or install them the right way doesn't mean they lose a purpose completely.

I was always thought fog light and driving lights are 2 different things. I prefer yellow fog lights due to they cut through the bad weather better and light up the road.

Driving lights to me were always clear and are supposed to be used for extra lighting when driving in dark areas. I do beleive most car makers just put them on for cosmetic reasons and most people don't use them correctly. A lot of the new dodge trucks with this big round driving lights are blinding. Are people that night blind that they need that much light to see, I think they just think it's cool.

I'm still on the search for aftermarket fog lights that take 9006 bulbs like the factory. Any suggestions. Don't care if they are side vent mount or center grill ones.

Thanks, jjp
