I also used a metal file. Then i hated a metal knife on the stove and used that to melt flat the tabs inside the bulb socket.

Does anyone know how to replace the yellow halogen low beams in the 08 tC's and what size they are? (underneath the high beam bulb) I replaced the projectors with my H11 superwhites but it's annoying having the clash of yellow next to it that the low beams produce. I was looking under the hood and couldn't find where to unplug it :?

i used to run modded cool blues, a pair burned out and got another set. then i changed to 6k HIDs in my lows and SSUltras in my high beams. id say they are pretty bright together but i havent look at them since im usually behind the wheel. lol. but i could look if you are intersted. lol.

for the bulb mod i found a dremel works the best for me. the first time i did it i used a soldering iron which worked fairly well but not as quick nor as clean as the dremel.

and nivel... do you mean your parking lights?

probably the parking lights, I know the 97 tc's use 194, but can also use 921. I bought some blazer extreme parking light bulbs which are blue, but I think i'm going back to buy some super white leds to put in, but i heard the bad part is the heat that the low beams gives out burns out the led parking light quick

its all a matter if u wanna follow the law or not. Silver stars are a legal modification... HID kits are not. Yes they may be dimmer, but they are legal. I did notice a big difference going from stock to them and they burnt out in about 10 months or so.

It's not exactly correct to say that Silverstars are a legal mod and HID is an illegal mod. Each state has different laws. Here is the California take on headlight modification, directly from the CHP website's "Street Legal" modification page:

"Illegal: Headlights brighter or higher wattage than those from the factory. You may be able to see better, but the lights are illegal (24011 VC)."

That definitely covers both HID and Silverstars. The problem with the law, as with many laws, is that it is vague. It comes down to an officer's opinion. Officers will rarely enforce this law against Silverstars unless you have them aimed too high or something, but they also will not enforce the law against most HID kits. They are usually more concerned with color than brightness. If you have blue HID then you will probably have a problem, but the same is true if you have blue halogens.

that is correct... but for a cop to be able to distinguish them to be significantly brighter than factory would be a feat in itself. The silverstars don't produce even close to the same amount of glare as the HIDs do so the officer would have a difficult time enforcing that law like you said.

My headlights are quite illegal myself, but I have gotten pulled over once because my high and low projectors are on at all times. I showed the officer that the light output is safe etc. and was fine... but I bet if I had just plain HID bulbs without my HID Specific (emphasis on the HID Specific part) projectors, I probably would have had received a ticket.
