smoked out tail lights + no clearcoat = weather resistant?
if u use the stuff for RC cars and leave it like that, is it weather resistant without the clear coat? http://www.ehobbies.com/pac294.html <---
i saw some other people do it and left it alone. i have some tails that are smoked but the claercoat made it kind of orange peel. lol i dunno..i kinda want it to be shiny. it looked nice before i cleared them. not sure if i should clear them this time.

Buy this. Its the same materials I use but thrown in spray can. There is no such thing as good clear from a can but if you find a way to separate the chemical's like these guys then you change the world!

Real clear has to be mixed with a hardener that adds superior shine to any can on the market. But keep in mind you can only use this can once which should be plenty to do the tail lights. Do a medium coat, then one flow coat (a wet thick coat)
Do it when its warm because this stuff has a 15 min dust free time. That means before that 15 min if dust falls on it, it will get trapped in the wet coat then its tougher to wet sand (hardly by any) Then give it about 8 hrs to dry enough to touch. I let it dry for 24 hrs before I wet sanded it buffed and polished and waited a week to wax.

P.S To wetsand it so you can hand buff and polish wet sand with 1500 then go over it with 2 - 3000 if you can find it. Then get 3M rubbing compound and 3M polish (autozone) and use the rubbing compound over and over with moderate pressure until you can see a nice shine, then use the polish a few times and you'll have any job a machine can do but better.
