My sunroof opens automatically until about 2 inches from full open. Then when I try to close it it wont automatically close, So I hold the button down again until it gets to the front supports then stops. So i press the button again and the automatic safety kicks in and the sun roof opens back up. Is there some sort of maintenance that can fix that or is my sunroof F-ed?
Also does anyone know what exactly is done on the 60K mile maintenance?

 

need to lube up the rails on the sunroof. it happened to mine, where the wind deflector was resisting too much when the sun roof tried to push it down. heck, me a kanundrum just sprayed stp belt dressing on it, and it was fixed.

as for 60 k maitenance, oil change, check/replace air filter, rotate tires pretty much. or check your service manual. but that is pretty much it.

 

ps i wouldn't go to the dealer lol, they will overcharge on your 60K

 

One other thing you can try on the sunroof is to disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect. This will make you reset your windows AND your sunroof.

This can sometimes help with it getting hung up on the wind deflector - but if it continues to happen, you need to have it lubed anyway. I had mine done at the very end of my extended warranty (75k) and it helped a LOT. But the battery/reset thing is something easy enough that you can try and see if it helps.

 

Automatically close? Did I miss something? Our sunroofs do that?! Serious question btw.
