tcpetes valve cover builds of 4/10/11 - 3rd one done!
YES BACK TO BACK VALVE COVER BUILDS ....
So now that my BBS LM restoration has come to close and they are almost on the car, i decided to embark on 2 new projects. Ill be doing a dual valve cover build off..yes you read it right... 2 valve covers back to back lol..(im crazy).. for the first valve cover ill be making a custom spark plug cover also which NO ONE has made to my liking yet.. close but not completely so screw it im going to ghetto fab one of my own and for the next one im debating on a spark plug cover or not... either way here are some pics to get the thread started... I promise this thread wont drag on for months and some of you already saw some previous designs i did which now there will be no PEDO BEAR.. to many ppl have it and i dont want my valve covers to be trendy fads etc etc..
so lets start the show
PAGE 1: 6/04/09 - PICS OF MY 2 VC'S AND SPARK PLUG COVER
PAGE 5: 6/015/09 - SHAVED 1 AREA DOWN 2 MORE TO GO!
PAGE 6: 6/30/09 - VALVE COVER CLEANED UP LOWER SECTION ALL SMOOTH
PAGE 7: 7/30/09 - all shaved and ready for the powder coaters
PAGE 8: 8/12/09 - back from the powder coaters..satin black finish
PAGE 9: 9/20/09 - SKEET SKEET PROCESS DONE!!! PICS OF ONE VALVE COVER AND 1 RADIATOR COVER COMPLETE!
PAGE 13: 4/10/11 - all shaved new candy teal valve cover done!
here are my 2 donor valve cover from the 4 in my collection lol
if you look closely you'll notice one of my valve covers has some green paint on it.. well for those who watched my previous valve cover thread.. that valve cover use to look like this one..
a custom candy green valve cover i did myself WAYYY back in history lol.... well that color had to GTFO of my life so i said screw it and kissed all that hard work good by with some pant stripper lol...
on to day 1 of work!
heres the first valve cover im going to start on.. i already had it previously masked and ready for paint but i need it for mock up purposes so ill be redoing the masking later..
heres the sheet of aluminum i picked up at lowes to get to fab on.. i already put a small bend in using my closet door lol.. and following i drilled to mock holes and mounted it on the valve cover to get an idea of what i need to do
next i grabbed 2 of my old recaro seat screws i had no use for and used them as bolts on the VC to help hold the park plug cover in place...
the bolt was way to long soooo i cut dat shet niig! SPARKKKKKKKS B FLYING!
ahh much better size.. now it screws down flush on the VC
added some curve to ensure the coil packs would fit.. (height was already measured homies i got that done previously lol)
took the PCV valve off since it was in the way
another angle of the pre mock up stage
tools only professionals should use lmao
a little bit of hammering and cutting goes a long way lol
more cutting
MAS CUTTING!!
VUALA *****!
thats all for now.. about 2 nights of work done in these pics... i still have some straightening and hammering and grinding to do but pretty decent for the first time shaping aluminum. its still very rough..
I wont be showing my idea for this valve cover because i wont wana spoil even though ive showed it already.. but im hoping u guys have horrific memory and forgot what it looked like lmao
updates in a few more days!

Teach me your ways oh wise one, my wife gets ____ed when I work on the car, I have had a sound system lurking in the basement begging to be installed, but the wife does not want to give the time. She thinks I like the car better than her...[/quote]
