tc's with HID using stock reflector
#3
I have had my TC for about 3 weeks now and the HID's have been in for about 2 weeks and I've been flashed 1 time so far. I have the 8000K kit in my car and my wife has the 5000K Kit in her TC. I have yet to be flashed in her car so maybe it's just the blue in mine and they liked them. LOL!

I don't really have an issue with the glare on my tc. Here in the Dallas area, people don't care. They drive around with their high beams. The newer Maximas with their oem hid glares like crazy. I think Nissan has a huge problem with that.

Someone over at ClubSciontC.com had put HID's in their tC's stock headlamps (reflectors and all), they had pictures up. Let me see if I can get the post up here in a second. (I'll repost in about a minute)

He says they aren't that bad in stock housing and are comparable to the stock lighting of the tC. I'll let the users be the judge though.

I decided to post this review up because alot of people are afraid to put true HID in the stock housing because of the stray light issues on alot of cars or whatever the reason may be. I had some concerns as well, but decided to try it out when I noticed they had kits all over ebay for around $100 - $150. I figured I could sell them and not loose much money if any at all if it didnt work out to my liking.
Product: xentec HID kit
Specs: 5000k Pure white bulbs
Price: $129 Shipped
Difficulty: 1
Time: 15 minutes
Basically the kit is great so far. Being a "cheap" kit, I dont know how long it will last, but the parts seemed to be pretty high quality to me. The 5000k is supposed to be pure white, but I would say its a little bit more bluish than the OEM kits on other cars. I believe those use 4300k bulbs anyways. Light output is definately the 3x more that they claim. The only thing is that it seems like its not projecting the light as far as before, but I think it could just be that its so much brighter up close you dont notice the far out light as much as before.
In my opinion, standing 50-60 feet away from the car, it is no more blinding (for oncoming traffic)than the standard bulbs. The light pattern is not the same as before, but I wouldnt consider it bad. I was out with them for about an hour tonight and not one car flashed me and the 1 cop didnt have anything to say either. Overall im very pleased so far.

Yeah, the glare isn't bad, but it's pointless now that I look at it because the light really doesn't go further, so it's not like you see any better.
If you are worried about glare, get D2R bulbs, they do help a lot.

I was getting flashed a bunch here and my lady was sick of seeing my lights in her mirror, so bluebat sent me these:
and the glare:
the glare is a lot better than stock, my guess is about 80% reduction of glare that the oncoming traffic actually see.

I get flashed a lot, usually when cresting a hill but then it doesn't matter if I have projectors or not. I'm running 8k HIDs. The glare multiplies exponentially as the car's slope increases in relation to the person looking at it. This wouldn't happen w/ projectors.

the way I see it if people's are causing tons glare hid or not worse than ours, then why can't I have HID and do it in a much more reasonable way?
