Exactly. It's still a Hyundai. People don't understand that. It looks great on paper, but in reality, it's a piece of trash.
And at $31,000, it offers terrible performance. A Mustang GT will decimate the Genesis, and the new Camaro SS (supposedly starting at $30,995) will offer 120 more HP and will weigh the same as the V6 Genesis.
Even the new WRX is a MUCH better buy than the Genesis (both 2.0t and 3.8 models). It offers 60 more hp and 100 less pounds than the 2.0t and AWD, or 40 less hp and 500 less pounds than the V6. In terms of power-to-weight, the 3.8V6 is barely 'faster' than the WRX, which is $6,000 less.
They tried to offer BMW-like refinement, with 350z-like track performance, Toyota-like reliability, and G35-like looks for an entry-level price. The results were atrocious.

No, I mean the exact same car they're offering for $25,000...the same ____tyness...it would be a better buy if it was only $18,000. Honestly, the Civic Si is STILL a better buy than the new Genesis, in terms of bang for your buck. I'll take the more refined, lighter, LSD-equipped FWD car over the poorly built, overweight, LSD-less RWD car anyday.

^ I'll agree with that on all points.
It's a good concept and I was excited a few months ago, but now that it's here, it seems the Genesis coupe isn't near what one might have hoped it would be.

thanks for all the replies, and to answer some questions,
-i live in las vegas
-im seventeen
-my current car is a 2k celica gt(auto)
-whatever my next car may be, i know it HAS to be manual
-i dont have that high of a paying job, only 10.50 an hour
-i can drive stick.. decently of course. i kinda plan on using my next car to get used to driving manual
anyway, thanks for giving your opinions, and yes, i kinda do want a fast car, but still at a low price and i found that both of my choices, the VW rabbit and Scion tc would be pretty good

ether way one thing to take into consideration is that the tC has a HUGE aftermarket compared to most other sport compacts including the rabbit. that means cheaper and more available parts. its just something to keep in mind if you do intend to mod your car.

i think the genesis coupe is a bad-___ looking car and it comes with a 2.0t as their lowest model? thats pretty good.
i mean the only downfall to the car is that its a hyundai (maybe bad build quality) and it weighs alot but i have to admit that the car looks really good and the specs on the sheet is pretty impressive.
id rock one. besides, if you debadge it, chicks wont even know its a hyundai. they'll just think you have a sexy looking car and want to get in bed with you right away.

I personally got a tC because of the price tag andI wanted something to work on. If you like working on your car and doing mods and upgrades then the tC is a great option.
I'm happy I got one because its like the first car I've really done all the work myself and It's my first brand new car. Once I get it paid off I'll more than likely buy a new car that's a lil more higher end that doesn't need much work.
The tC just has been a great car to me. I've never had problems with and because theres so much aftermarket stuff for it I've got to learn how to do mods I normally wouldn't attempt.
I guess just decide how much you wanna spend and what you wanna be able to do with it or what you expect to get outta it.
At your age and income tho I'm definitely recommending the tC
