Default Tips for anyone buying a Kaminari Body kit...

I purchased this kit, and the car is finally in the shop. But to clear some things up...

The Kaminari kit REQUIRES you to have OEM side skirts. I had the dealer installed groundeffects which I sold to another member on this site. The problem si when you take off the ground effects, the sides have nothing there but plastic brackets underneath. The Kaminari skirt needs a stock skirt to bolt up to. So I go to the dealership and find that 1 replacement OEM side skirt costs $420 painted. So $880 later, you'd be all set.

I also found that the Kaminari kit completey covers the OEM sides. So I contacted the member I sold the kit too, and negotiated a deal where I'd take his Flint Mica OEM sides, and he got my IIP lip kit. His lip kit was being repainted to it didn't matter. I am leaving the sides flint mica because you can't see them behind the Kaminari skirt.

Also, the Kaminari front bumper does not come with a grill or mesh of anykind, so if you want it to be covered up front have some mesh on hand to finish it off nicely,

I also purchased new OEM bumper clips at the dealership, which made things easier, the stock ones get abused after a while.

Hopefully this covers any possible problems for when you purchase your kit. Good luck with everyone!

-Joe

That and if anyone sells theire ground effects kit in an effort to give themselves extra cash for paint, get some stock sides ready in return, so you can actually bolt up the kit properly.

If anyone has any questions on the Kaminari kit let me know, I think I've learned most of what I need on the kit now. I'll have pics of everything next Sunday, after it comes back from HIN in Boston. No project pics till after the show!

It works thought. And the fitment is top notch, much better than the wings west kit I used on my 02 Civic.

Well guys as far as I know the hood isn't out yet... So I bought what was available at the time. I'll eventually do the hood once the turbo is on, but probably not until then.

I'll measure the ground clearance on everything when it comes out of the body shop, after the HIN show of course, where the tC will be featured with my team, Deceptive Illusionz.

That reminded me of the other project car my buddy and I acquired. A 1997 GT-R m spec Nur. Thing is going to be pretty quick when we're done with it!

BTW, thanks for all the compliments guys. I'll definately post up some pics when it's done.

I have a better idea. Don't buy fiberglass body kits because they are crap. I had one on my last car and would never own another.

Bro... It's a Skyline. It has nothing to do with my tC lol...

The Skyline I'm working on is twin turbo'd, and we're running a dual power innovation turbo kit with an ARC intercooler. It should be putting down around 5-600whp by June. Until then, no one will see pics or anything. We're looking to keep this project strictly as a rumor until we can get it the way we want it.
