The stuff you dip it in is super thick rubber... hasn't done anything to mine.

I've had my lights light up halfway... as the ballasts need some umph sometimes to get going and the alternator gives that extra kick.

the plasti dip is GREAT its a lil to thick to make its way far into the ballast and durable enough to withstand the elements.

ive used it plents of times on other parts that i wanted water proofed.

I'm going to get paint from home depot tomrorow, and i'll pick up one of those things too.

Question: when you get replacement rings, or ballasts, does umnitza charge you for the entire kit?

nope, it's 15 bucks for a replacement ring, i dont know what the ballast replacement costs, i havent had to do that yet *knocks on wood*. I just used some silicone sealant around the edges of the ballast. it looks like a hack job, but i have them hidden up on the inside of the fender where you cant see them anyways, and they're waterproofed, so i cant complain.

You can also look for this stuff called "Liquid Electrical Tape" in black or clear, available at OSH. Comes in a round can with brush applicator. Not as thick as the other stuff mentioned here, but I think it is easier to work with. I would do multiple coats. The electronics on my paintball marker last longer since I started using this stuff.
