Default VRD TBL pics

someone asked me to post some pics of my full TBL from VRD. i got it a few weeks ago, it lights up almost exactly like OEM, nicely even all the way through. i'd recommend VRD from my experience, really fast ship and answered all my questions. i even screwed up and paid twice for the light on accident-- they refunded my money within about a week.

here's a pic, sorry it isn't the highest quality-- it was raining and i didn't have a tripod.

Nice. Looks good. I think I'm gonna go try to order mine again. The last time I tried it gave me a funny error message and I didn't want it to take my money w/o getting my order in.

www.vertexracing.com

or theres a $40 DIY kit with a thread with step by step instructions. search it.

get it on ebay at their site, its $10.00 more, but they ship ups, rather than usps on their site..ups is much better with large packages, and oznium has a better warrantee than VRD. i just purchased mine, and they will be shipping at the end of the week

the diy kit is very difficult if you have no knowlege of what your doing, but even having the knowlege can be a nightmare, a friend of mine ordered the kit and had it installed by experts using all the step by step instructions, still turned out bad...thats why i am playing it safe and just ordered mine from ozniums ebay store:

only (6) remaining

yeah, it looks blue in that pic because of the crappy camera. in reality it's just like OEM. here is a better pic i took today:

not horrible, but you have to pry off some trim pieces in the trunk and carefully remove the OEM light. it's held in by sticky weather-stripping type material which can be finicky (pull too hard and risk breaking it). the connector on the VRD light is straight up plug and play, but it took me a few tries jiggling it around to get it to light up properly. here's the nice writeup for the DIY:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...hlight=tbl+diy

modding the original OEM light yourself doesn't look that easy if you don't have the proper tools and experience. i didn't feel like trying it, and i'm even a EE. i'm pretty lazy though, heh.

the trim around the tbl has a silver coating so that its not 100% transparent. Its there so u cant see the messy looking weatherstripping.
