i had the pedestal spoiler.
made the tc look like it had one BIG @$$
didnt help it at all

 

reasons why i dont like the pedestal spoiler:

a) it is bulky/chunky
b) it is ugly (this is subjective)
c) see both a & b

i have and prefer the oem lip spoiler.

 

i think as long as you have a body kit all the OEM spoilers look good.

Plus it puts Holes into the Hatch too!

It should of been Designed to match the ends of the body lines too!...

 

I agree that it could have been designed better. I put one on mine because I do like the way it looks. IMO I think it makes the car a little more aggressive on the sides. The one thing I don't like about it is the towers holding it up in the back are thick and pretty ugly. The standard celica spoiler on the other hand, I thought was too small.

And saw something funny about a month ago. One of my absolute favorite, decent priced cars is the Infiniti G35 (and now even more the G37, mmm) but I think there spoiler looks pretty lame on it, I would go without one if I ever had it, but I saw a BSP driving the other day, and he had a G35 spoiler on his car. I'm not a fan of the lip spoiler on the tC, but I must say that spoiler looked even worse.

When I brought my 08 tC, I was looking at buying the lip spoiler over the pedestal. Imo the pedestal looks more sporty due to its high stance as compared to the lip, but the overall design of it does not look good with the car.

However, what made me thought twice about buying the lip spoiler is the price. I mean how the heck can a lip spoiler cost around the price of the pedestal (~$50 difference). I would have gotten the lip if it cost around $200. I knew that I was getting ripped off if I decided to get the lip over the pedestal. I ended up not buying any spoiler. That's why there's Ebay...might get one of those lip spoiler later on.

 

 

If you're going to lock this thread that discusses people's opinions on a part of the Scion tC, then you might as well lock all threads that don't have pictures or questions.

Pedestal spoiler adds a sporty/ different look. I use to get more "your car is a chick car" before I added the spoiler.

 

You're absolutely right. Curves = Female.

 

in my ranking #1 is no spoiler, and #2 is some kind of lip spoiler. i don't really consider other wings since i just think most of them don't flow with the car.

 

lol the oem stuff is ugly and weak and everybody gets them. People that get stuff from the dealership right away are the ones that are too lazy to look for quality and tasteful parts to put on their car. That's why I didn't even think about buying the rs3 when I bought my 07. haha I'm far from not liking how the tc looks

 

So I was going to put the pedestal spoiler on my tC... but since everyone thinks it's so ugly, I figured I'd just go with this one:



Srsly people... it's not THAT bad. There are many, many worse spoilers out there than the OEM pedestal. Yes, lip spoilers are probably cleaner.. and the Kaminari one is hot... but the OEM pedestal is not THAT bad.

If you really think it is, don't buy it. If you have it... get rid of it. It's that simple.

Yeah that makes sense. I'm just glad I was able to find a hardly used tC with all the stuff without paying extra.

 

when i picked up my 06 fm, i wanted the spoiler (bought it used). but now when i see other tcs on the road i notice mostly women have the pedestal spoiler on their cars, while the guys either have the lip or no spoiler.

 

i just think the tC looks plain without a spoiler
