Default What is best Road Trip Tape for car

Hey Guys, I'm planning a road trip to Exposed next week in OH and I was wondering what is the best painters tape to put on the car to protect against bugs, rocks, etc. Some people use the Green 3M tape, and some use the Blue Tape. Is there a difference? Is one safer on the paint than the other? Is one tougher than the other? Just wondering.

i've always used the blue 3m tape, tried some green tape from menards that was supposed to be 'clean release' and me an dmy buddy found that to be FALSE (alot of residue left) so went back to 3m blue tape although i've heard on forums of alot using the green 3m now. i can't seem to find it around here to try tho

if you really want to spend some money you can get the green "frog" tape i have seen at home depot. but the 3m stuff works pretty well

And to think, when I saw the title of this thread you were looking for a play list of songs to put on a tape to listen to on a road trip. I was going to bust your ***** about asking for cassette tape advice. lol.

but now that I read your post, I've always used 3m blue painters tape. Duck brand blue tape never worked well for me. Stick with 3m blue.

if your looking to make it a little stronger, 3m base layer and then duct tape on top helps.
