Default What is the best way to change headlamp color to blue?

Ok, I have the superwhites and all that, but I want a much more blue appearance without it being so much that I get a ticket for them. I wanted to avoid overlays at all costs, thanks in advance!

Why don't you buy a used lowered Civic. I think they all come with blue headlights standard. (j/k!) Go to ebay and search for some bulbs. I think Nokya actually had some that were blue-ish.

Interesting idea...but what type of paint can take the heat and still maintain its transparency? And be weather resistant?

Get HIDs. 8k or 10k. The Nokya bulbs and all those Fake HIDs are crap. I've burnt my wiring warness trying to save money with them.

You dont want 10,000K. They have a purple tint to them. Even though they lokk damn nice on a darker car. 6,000K is a more white with a blue tint. 8,000K is a straight blue color. Look good but not my thing. But if you want a bright light with blue tint go with the 6,000K.

Save for HIDs. You'll be better off in the long run.

Blue "Xenon" bulbs will:

A: fry your harness
B: need to be replaced every few months.

Im about to buy sylvania bulbs i heard they are really good. But if you want little more blue luxury stlye get 6000k HIDs, 8000k for alittle more blue. Avoid 10k-12k because its purple. IFFF you want the civic ricer neon blue headlights then theres 20k hid kit.
Yes 20k is a real true blue, i didnt believe it myself cuz the higher it is the more purple, but look it up urself.

Assuming the manufacturer/retailer isn't spouting BS, then I think that if the kit is really rated at 20000K it would be very, very purple. Prob'ly almost to the point of being UV.

I have to agree with captain on this. 20000k would prolly be pretty damn purple. 10000k is referred to as "Brilliant Blue", and though it may have a purple tint, it's more blue than anything.
I have 8000 and they are more white with a slight blue tint.

This page is a good place to start, and has a color chart of what each looks like:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9006-...94452122QQrdZ1

The numbers refer to the color according to a Kelvin Temperature chart. This page has a chart of the Kelvin scale:

Yours are gorgeous, how much did the setup run you? I think I agree with most peoples posts and that I will save up for a HID setup. I am debating taking out the sylvania cool blues, replacing them with the better silverstar ones, then putting in some blue 194's to give it a tint...I have yet to find bright ones yet that are enough to tint them well enough.
Just a cheap trick in the meantime....
