Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you order the kit if you didn't know it was going to be brighter? Google "HID lumen" and then "halogen lumen" and look at the difference in the numbers.

Yes. Significantly.

Just be aware they will also glare other drivers if you don't have headlights with a proper cutoff.

If you can't tell the difference between HID's you see in most cars and halogens in cars, then somethings wrong.

The sylvanias come in different levels of brightness. The highest has horrible lifetime. I think I had bought one step below the brightest and it looked a tad bit brighter but not much. HIDs will definitely be more white and brighter. Depending on te headlight, the light scattering will suck.

When oncoming drivers start flashing their high beams at you, then you know your HIDs are working correctly.

k well i installed them and they are def whiter than the sylvania star but i was hoping it was going to allow me to see a tad bit more of the road ( not like high beam) but i guess i was expecting too much.

When I put in my HID's with the non projector casing, I aimed them significantly lower so the faded cutoff was at the same distance as my properly aligned halogens. I haven't had anyone flash their hi-beams at me in the 2 years I've had them and the residual light is much more powerful at picking up reflective road signs and lane markers than halogens, especially in adverse weather. Worth it in my book when done properly. Don't be a douche and leave them in people eyes like the jacked up truck guys who get them. Makes me want to strap a big zip tie to their drive shafts when they go into the gas station for more dip and cheap beer...

^What year tC(or which headlights are you using)? Same to the OP. I have 6000K on my '09, adjustment left alone, have only been flashed once and I was at the top of a hill going down and the oncoming car flashed at that moment.

I'm using the 05-07 reflector based lamps. Even the projectors have to be angled down a few turns. Mine went down a lot of turns lol. Another problem with HID's is when you hit a small bump (especially in our stiff suspension lowered cars) the "bounce back" looks like a high beam flash on their end. Nothing will change that, I just give them a taste of their own medicine if they want to be rude.

You should be seeing more of the road with HID's. You can always adjust them. But if you don't see a difference, you either ordered a horrible color or have vision issues.
