I'll let you guys know how it goes this summer... When the suns out, it's not too noticable, so hopefully no tickets.

So far so good for me right now... I wanted something like 35% on my windshield too, but opted for 50%. I have 15% all around and it's dark, I know your car must be extremely dark inside with 35%.

im bringing this 1 back.

I cant decide which % to get, ive been debating on what % to get since i had thought or the law in TX used to be 35% and i just check and its 25%. So im thinking of going with either 20% or 25%?

i like the way this looks! and this is 20%

What are the actual state driving laws for after-market window tinting?

Windshield
Glass coating or sunscreening devices

Cannot extend downward beyond the AS-1 line; or
Cannot extend more than 5 inches from the top of the windshield without an AS-1 line.
If sunscreening devices are used above the AS-1 area of the windshield, the light transmittance value must be 25% or more;
The luminous reflectance of any additional sunscreening devices used must be 25% or less;
Sunscreening device cannot be red, blue or amber in color.

Side Windows
All side windows must have at least 25% light transmittance and luminous reflectance of 25% or less, over the entire surface area of the window.

Rear Window
If vehicle has left and right outside mirrors, there is no minimum light transmission requirement.
If not equipped with both outside mirrors, the rear window must have no less than 25% light transmittance and a luminous reflectance of 25% or less.
The manufacturers installed glazing shade band is excluded.

Here's some closeups of 5% on side and back windows. It cost me $180 to get this done:

Here you can see in the front because I don't have any tint on the windshield. I'm considering putting 35% all over the windshield:

It's ugly. Don't do it.
I probably wont do it, but I still wanna see if anyone has done it. You never know, maybe it will look good?
I've seen it. That's why I told you no. That, and I don't like mirror tint on any car in general.

please dont take this as racist but i need to back up Joe because you're obviously not getting the point. mirror tint makes you like _____ trash. insert any color you want in front of trash....but it makes you look like _____ trash. i think its absolutely hideous and if i might add.......civic ricerish. point is, dont do it. IT is complete crap and makes ME look like complete crap. i know times may be hard on you as you're contemplating a decision like this...but keep it together bro...i'm prayin for you.

this is what i think of mirror tint:

tint
So anyone that drives a Lexus RX300 is _____ trash? So does anyone have pictures of mirror tint on their tC?

Hey, does anyone know what the tC has for stock tinit? Also, Maine and its retarded laws state that I can't use anything lower than 50% film. Does any one have pics of what this would look like on a darker car. I have a BSP and I'm just wondering if its even worth doing.

3M 35% all the way around...

Cloudy day, looking from rear to front:

I post sunny vs. cloudy and viewing angle becuse tint looks darker on cloudy days, and when viewed from the rear. (Light coming in from the front windshield makes the front tint look lighter) My sunroof shades were open in all pics. It gets a little darker when you close them. The tint is a pretty good match for the stock roof tint.

BeetC, did you put 35% on your windshield too? How about the sun roof?

The windshield ha no tint on it. I actually don't really like the "top tint stripe" look too much. The sunroof is also untouched, with only the factory tint. The tint is on the driver and passenger front windows, driver and passenger rear windows, and rear windshield. The tint on the windows is pretty much exactly the same shade as the factory tint on the sunroof. Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for taking those pictures. I think that 35% is the way to go. If I ever get off my a.s.s and get tint, I will get 35%
