Yakima Copperhead roofrack? Amazon sale.
Hey guys,
So supposedly theres the yakima copperhead roof rack attachment on sale on amazon in a few hours. Note, this is only at attachment and youll need to buy the base and crossbars.
As speedhunters put it, 2009 was the year for pastel colors and ROOF RACKS. lol. Anyone planning on buying one if its cheap? I might just jump onto the wagon. The only thing is, ill actually use it since I ride bikes.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PUX4IO
Its currently listed at $84.15. The sale hasnt started yet.
lets hope for some good prices.

DIY Yakima bars
If you're trying to save some dough, just get the towers and 3/4 IP steel pipe from the hardward store. The only difference between IP pipe and Yakima's pipes is a plastic coating (which makes the outer diameter larger by 1/16"). But it's just regular steel plumbing pipe underneath. To get the same diameter that the towers need, get large diameter heat shrink tubing (from Home Depot or better, a commercial electrical/electronic supply shop) and shrink it on. Depending on your location, you could save almost half from what Yakima asks. Don't know about the warranty.
