00 rav4 2.0L exhaust manifold interchangeable?
so wondering if anyone has tried using the manifold of the 2.0L rav4 2000ish.
asking because they look very similar and ours is a short 4 to 1 one setup and the one of the rav4 is 4-2-1.
just wondered if anyone has done it and if it made any difference.

probably not. 1. the tc uses a 2.4 liter 2az fe, while depending on which rav4 engine you're talking about, they have the 2.0 1 az fe, while it is the same engine family. they can be quite different. also, they'll have different exhaust systems to connect to.
the 2az fe is used in many different toyota platforms, you should be able to find spare parts for them everywhere.
but if you really want to know, look up the part number for the tc, and the rav4 part. if they're the same, then you're set.

yeah i ordered the one for the rav4 and the one for tc so ill have them both on thursday to measure and no i didnt just pay for two manifolds i work at a parts store so i can just order stuff for stock
i saw it in one of my catalogs and got the mind thinking.
but yeah i did search before posting the thread cuz i figured someone might have done or at least asked about this before but no one has that i could find.

FYI if it DOES fit, it would need porting to match the exhaust ports on the tC's exhaust side. Also it wouldn't give any performance upgrade being 4-2-1 because stock exhaust manifolds are restrictive, also it has a stock cat on it still yes? You won't gain anything over stock IMO, and it would take work to make it really work to even get a decent flow on it.

ok so correction its a manifold of a 2002 rav4.
the runners are 1.5" the one on the tc is 1.25". the outlet on the rav4 is 2.25" the tc is 2".
as far as fitment the thing is bolt on but u cant use the lower brackets the original manifold did. it doesnt hit anything and lines right up to the downpipe.
ive driven it for a day now with no CEL or any other problems. as far as performance im gonna have ZZP here in michigan run it on the dyno to get those numbers. i did notice that from 100-120mph the engine doesnt seem to be working as hard and it gains speed at a slightly higher pace. overall it smoothed out the pull thru the rpm band but we have to wait for dyno numbers to see if it is really worth it.

the only thing i had todo was remove the lower brackets which was two bolts but yeah other than that it didnt hit anything and it lined right up to the down pipe which also just bolted on.
im waiting on the 2.5" s pipe i ordered to dyno it cuz the stock one is so restrictive. ill have numbers and pics soon.

just got the s-pipe on pretty easy actually but im waiting on zzp cuz their pretty booked right now an they go by appointment. they mainly deal with granp prix's and cobalts but since i deal with their parts guy on a regular basis they made an exception for my scion. so far so good on the rav4 manifold tho no problems there and the s-pipe went on no proplem.

that guys statement makes no sense anyway. if you increase the cars power, it would find it easier to accelerate from 0-127 mph period. it wouldn't accelerate from 0 to 100 like normal, and then find a magical sweet spot for the next 20 mph that it accelerates slightly easier. something like that would be a by product of better aerodynamics.
