Default 07 MAF Sensor Removal?

Has anyone encountered problems removing their MAF sensors from their 07s? My friend says that it's only held in place by one screw and its in there pretty tight.. he doesn't wanna crank on that screw before making sure that it's safe to do so (his intake didn't come with instructions) and all the guides here are only for the 05-06's..
help!

The 05 06 guide will work and the MAF is held in by 2 screws. Undo them but make sure you are turning the right way. The old guides will be identical to the new one with the exception of how the MAF looks. You will be fine just take your time.

Oh an btw disconnect the maf sensor first, then unscrew it, when you set it down be careful because it is easy to mess up the actual sensor piece.

it should just come off w/ a phillips screwdriver. by the way. the 07 maf sensor changed from the earlier models. make sure you have the right one b4 you start pulling stuff apart.

causes the computer to go into "limp mode" but yea, my friend is installing his intake and he was telling me that he couldn't get the MAF sensor off of his 07 tC.

Removing the maf means that the ecu gets no reading as far as how much is going into the intake manifold, etc... making run as he said in limp mode.

Limp mode will basically cause your car to choke out if you go past 3k RPMs with lots of bogging along the way. it's happened to my other friend's tC after his MAF decided to take a dump on him.

not only will it do that but it should throw a check engine light. i tried doing that w/ another car... yeah i was like crap never doing that again. anyways it basically tells the comp how much air is going in so that it can keep the right air fuel ratio.
