im well aware of what a salvaged car is my supra is a salvaged....anywho it can still be warranteed her frame could have been bent and repaired ...that has nothing to do with why the transaxel is broken....
when you get your car repaired after an accident u dont always choose toyota/scion to repair...and u still have warranty
but any parts that were replaced or repaired by the body shop are no longer warrantied by toyota with the exception of a parts warranty, covering that part alone, usually because they are purchased new, but they are usually the responsibility of the body shop that does the repair to guarantee their work. not toyota. ofcourse toyota has to know that the car was in a collision to know whether or not to warranty the car.
but if you take a salvaged car to get warrantied repairs, as soon as the VIN is entered, it will come up that this car was declared a total loss and salvaged.
now, why are salvaged cars not a good idea? because the totalled car was sold at auction to somebody, who then profits by getting the car road worthy again by fixing it himself. they probably use parts from junkyards or other totalled tc's that they may have bought to make more money, so the quality of their work is extremely questionable.
also, the value of that salvaged car when you go to sell it is also low.
