nothing is carb legal. whether or not your state cares about carb is another story.

every time it rains my street floods and the water is like 4 inches high. im not into swaping the intake everytime this happens. even with the BV sitting in 4 inches of water long enough to open my gate scares the hell out of me.

i have the TRD intake as well but i unfortunately didnt get a chance to dyno b4 and i dont really have access to one now either. but it DOES feel a bit torquey'er around 3 grand. a fine mod in my opinion. only paid 350+tax (366) since McGeorge parts is only down the street.

living in VA FINALLY pays off!

remember nascar's also idle at 10000 rpm...
um...are you crazy? a stock car in the Nascar Cup series doesn't idle more than 2000rpm. They usually red-line around 9500rpm depending on the gearing and track. I drove a cup car at Pocono Raceway, and it was idling at 1500rpm, and the red-line was about 9250rpm. Let me tell you, I hit 8400rpm on the front straight and it was screaming. I couldn't imagine running 10,000rpms on a V8 full throttle, let alone idling there.

living in VA FINALLY pays off!
But you have to pay property tax on your car, so you make up for it. :D

It's encouraging to hear that the TRD actually IMPROVES torque. The loss of torque from some other intakes was a turn off for me.

ok its christmas for yous guys. i dynoed today at a show here in VA. we got to dyno for free!!!! Thanx SCION VIP! ok so the dyno did not show us the torque numbers but i have the HP number for you and you can compare them to the stock tc putting out 140 to the wheels. also one of my club mates dynoed his Injen CAI right after mine and sorry to say, he had me by 2 horses on one pull and 1 horse on the 2 remaining pulls. i came up with 145.24 HP to the wheels he of course came up with 147. i guess that 3 inch piping on his Injen might be helping vs my 2.5 inches on my TRD. or maybe the bypass valve section aggitates the air enuf to loose that 1-1.8 horses. we both are only running CAI's and TRD exhaust as far as the engine is concerned. so the gain on the TRD intake is about 4 to the wheels, prolly 6-8 to the crank. and since Dyno's have a 2 horse error variance you can really say their equal.

oh and the TRD only comes in BLACK CHROME. Not black. not chrome. BLACK CHROME. just to take out the confusion. merry christmas to yous guys.

in my car

no prob. but everybody remember. this is JUSt HP the torque numbers may be high cuz they sho nuff feel like it according to the butt dyno. i still need to see another dyno with me and my boy with the Injen with torque numbers to say if its definately on par with injen and worth the money (not to break ur motor mounts and to have a bypass valve)
