Anyone try a header / s-pipe on a stock exhaust..?

It's been done.
I'm installing an s-pipe soon. I don't imagine it to be much louder than it is now... which... is not loud at all. It's just raspy when it's cold.
After it warms up, it's very close to stock. My engine bay is significantly louder than the exhaust.

hmmm... Good to know as I was considering the Megan... I want it as quiet as possible so I was considering the stock exhaust system with a header and s-pipe...
I think allot of the rasp you guys have when cold is a timing function... The 20V 4ag engines to the same thing as when the engine is cold timing is advanced until warm, then when timing goes away they sound nice and deep.

Potentially.
It's either that, or a metal expansion issue somewhere in the piping. It's likely that a particular part needs to expand and quit rattling around when exposed to high flow.
I'm not 100% convinced that the resonator kills the rasp through its resonating action, it might simply replace the rasping part. There's no doubt the sound gets deeper with a new resonator, but when warm, my megan header doesn't rasp at all.

On Alphawerks, that has been seen, but the megan get raspy as well with different exhaust setups.
I run my header with stock exhaust for a while and it wasn't loud at all... the stock Exhaust is REALLY restrictive.... so it quiets things down a bit.

Exactly, duh. Also running a 14.899 in a friggin low cost tc with nothing but the trd sc is definitly a sleeper. Everyone so far even my wrx / sti buddies are suprised a tc can run like mine. I figure with some very cool mods I have ready to go in, some exhaust and intake work I should be in the mid to low 14's. The car is by no means fast, And yes I have owned several cars in the low 12's, but it is very fun to drive and very nice to cruise in.
Also yes instigator, that is my goal. I have no logo's, no rice crap on my car and I did not even put the sc logo's on my car. I want it to look like a stock tc, lowered and that is about it.
