Default Appears to be rust on piston tops

Decided to see what the pistons looked like on top via the spark plug hole using a flashlight.

It was pretty hard to tell, but I really only saw rust, or what looked like rust on the tops of the pistons. Also noticed a slight bit of white on the spark plug arches.

Car seems to run ok. I feel like it's lacking a little power but that might be normal.

27k miles. Only mods are intake, s pipe and catback.

What's going on here?

I don't know man. It looked like rust. I'm hoping this is normal or something. I did run 93 gas for 25k miles before learning I might be doing more harm than good. I now only use 87. No idea if that has anything to do with it.

Ran 1/2 bottle of BG 44k to clean up any deposits. (1/2 the can spilled out due to wrong funnel used- my bad). Maybe I should use another can.

impossible for there to be rust unless the car has sat for a very very long time. What youre seeing is carbon buildup left by unburnt fuel. the white on the arches is generally normal too, we have fairly hot plugs.
