it is a car so it can be fixed the only thing sucks it there adjuster takes a week to get here and i work a bit away from my house and have no ride.
But to anybody looking to do they swap i know a few people who have done this. you can do it for around 1500 and the most expensive parts are usally new clutches. that is doing it yourself and getting most of your parts from a junk man. You can use a auto ecu because we have but it throws codes. a lot of codes. It is around 18 i think. then it will require a bit of a retune the timing a bit if you are running a turbo. I would honestly suggest it to anyone swapping a transmission to get everything running perfectly. but honestly there is no reason for you to swap the transmission unless you are bored, just like to work on cars or making more power than the auto can handle. otherwise your better off trading it in and getting a stick.

You have to drill the hole for the master cylinder. IIRC its a 1.25" hole. I made a template out of cardboard for the large hole and the 2 smaller 8mm stud holes. There is a carpet knockout on the firewall which assists with locating where to put the template. I than traced the outline for the holes on the firewall using my template. Than I used a 90* angle drill with a 1.25" bi-metal hole saw to drill the large hole, than a 3/8" drill bit to drill the 2 smaller holes. I still cant remem for sure if the hole saw was a 1.25 or 1.5 - ill have to check for sure when i get home. Id also highly advise replacing the brake pedal with one from a 5 spd - its much narrower to prevent you from accidentally hitting the clutch/brake at the same time. Ive done 2 manual swaps now, so if you need any further help jsut pm me.

The idel will be fine I have the auto harness and ECU in my car and it runs fine. Yes you will have a check engine light.
If you look on the auto trans where the cable from the shifter is hooked to thats the wires you need to make the car start

this car is turbo also so idk if it would affect the tuning with a auto ecu with a 5 speed setup
